I did not buy a V8 because I did not want one... They are heavy and underpowered. The weight distribution on a V8 is horrible and is hard to overcome for handling purposes. I have sat by rather quietly and watched this ping pong match for two days now... I just want to add that this post has turned into an arguement by 2 or 3 members...no problem. The problem is that not all V8 guys think they are king of the road (some of us know it JK) . If this is your opinion of ALL V8s, you should probably go to your local Ford dealer and drive one. The S197 is the strongest and best handling production Mustang ever... and it is not real cool to bash the flagship of the product line on her own forum.
Mine is very close to stock and runs very well... and doesnt feel heavy.... and definitely overcomes the weight distribution for handling purposes.

Dude this guy Cmaurer seems to like to bash V8 GTs because he drives a Slow V6. Its is very common actually.... When you only own a V6 like Cmaurer and you dont own a V8 and cant own a V8 you tend to wanna bash on the people that do own them. Trust me i've tried to get the point across to him but he wont listen lol...

Yea but your cars have nitrous out the rear end and turbos add any shot of nitrous to a 03-04 cobra and you'd probably be like 5-6 lengths behind the snake.... Mod for mod it is not common for a V6 to beat a V8.

The point he was trying to make is that they CAN be made to go fast regardless of what's being used as a power adder and such.

If you really want power from a V6...let these guys build it:

Super Six Motorsports

Though you WILL spend the same on a V6 that you will on a V8 because the T5 manual will be completely rebuilt, drive shaft strengthend, and by the time you're done it will still sound like a V6...though no one will be laughing at you...you'll still sound like a V6...if you don't care about sound you can pull 12's IF you really want to build a full on Drag 6er...but be warned....its not cheap...I'm thinking of doing this BUT I like V8's and sure as hell going to be more relyable...so I might just go v8 in the end...and get the GT.

phhhhhh.... i eat V2's, V3's V4's V5's V6's and so on for night snack.. The only one who gave me trouble was triple V15 with juice in the glovebox !

Now not to be mean or anything but take that turbo off your car and see if you'll even be sticking with a V6.

When you think about it if you take the turbo off of the V4 Evos and SRT4s they have nothing but a little scared 4 cylinder sitting under their hood . And then those evos and SRT4s would be running scared from V8s and V6s!

Again didnt want to be mean or start a fight just statin my opinion dude heck I dont even know if your car has a 4cyl or 6cyl in it soo...

even without turbo my car is able to beat pre-2005 V6's . I'll be honest even stock my car was pretty peppy for a 4 cyl.

What the CRAP guys!!! I thought we stang-bangers were supposed to back each other up. If you feel you have to bash some body over the head go to a civic site for gods sake. If a mans got a mustang and he likes to drive it like a mustang, he's ok in my book. Besides, I've got a sixxer in my Exploder and those 4.0's got some snort. I'm actually pretty cocky when i pull up on most ricers in the ol' Eddie because I know that little 6 will drag that big tank @$$ around quite nicely. I know I'm stoked as hell to see if Ford ever puts that new eco-boost 6 idea in an awd Fusion. GLOOORRIOUSSS!!

i know what you mean...even though I will be going v8...im not bashing the V6..or the v8...I just prefer the v8....but Im 23 and my insurance base is through the roof as it is...and the v8 is far higher...so I gotta wait a few years.
