omg apparently the board does not like us v8 drivers bashing v6s....

i could care less if somone has a faster v6 than me.... really i could care less..... but i think of v6 drivers is like ricers.... they spend ungodly amts. of money to beat a v8 with a smaller engine... thats pretty ricerish....

but i have more respect for v6 mustang drivers than your run at the mill honda or acura ricer...

but modifying cars is pretty universal.... u can modify a shopping cart and make it faster than a car.... who cares.

I dont get all this v6 bashing... or any bashin for the matter. Jesus Christ why does everyone feel like they have to bash someone for liking/driving soemthing different than them>? I love my car, it may never be faster or sound as good as a v-8 but so what? I like it, i get compliments everywhere i go why does ANYONE, especially someone on the internet thousands of miles away give a damn about what i drive? I know the which is better debate is never ending with any kind of car but jesus whats the freakin point of arguing and bashing someone about it? And to say v6 drivers are like ricers is just plain stupid. The definition of ricer that i understand ius soemone driving a jap import (who cares what engine size) with ungodly amounts of useless ugly body mods and no engien mods to back it up (Ex: 5 foot tall wing on an otherwise bone stock civic). In closing enjoy your ride and elt others enjoy thiers we are all mustang enthusiast we should be sticking together!

ik the arguement is kinda done...and i love all mustangs v6 or v8...but

no one mentioned this...

although the 4.0 v6 maybe able to run low 14s with bolt ons...

well a stock fox can run low 14s...bone stock...and can run low 13s with bolt ons and the right driver...

lets see a 4.0 v6 do that...

Super Six Motorsports

there you go....you asked, and ye shall recieve.

So the V6 CAN run into the 10's...but not stock in any way shape or form...and sure as hell not with just bolt on's...so no I agree with you...thats why Im going V8...out of personal tastes...no the V6 diserves respect I dont get it why some v8 fans MUST bash the 6...or any car for that matter...I dont hate ricers...I laugh (at them) there funny.

The problem is that not all V8 guys think they are king of the road (some of us know it JK) . When you say that V8 is "heavy and underpowered" and "weight distribution is horrible" and "hard to overcome for handling".... are you referencing all mainstream GTs or just the select few remaining unmodified 5.0's (most of which are well over 100k miles)? If this is your opinion of ALL V8s, you should probably go to your local Ford dealer and drive one. The S197 is the strongest and best handling production Mustang ever... and it is not real cool to bash the flagship of the product line on her own forum.
Mine is very close to stock and runs very well... and doesnt feel heavy.... and definitely overcomes the weight distribution for handling purposes.
I am well aware of what the S197 chassis is capable of stock and modified... Have you ever heard of Griggs??? Seen what they can do for the SN95 Chassis?? How about the S197 chassis. Griggs makes the Mustang into a Ferrari killer. I like the S197 chassis but it is just so heavy. All cars today are getting heavy which sucks but oh well.

Mustang 220. You know nothing about cars. It is plainly obvious by your uneducated posts... You seem to think that your stock 2v GT is fast... lmao A stock 2v is in no way fast... You take my posts and twist them around to suit your arguments... Congratulations. You keep posting about putting the same mods on a V8 as a V6... In the real world go up to someone and tell them that you will only race them if they have the same mods as you... I bet you will be waiting awhile... You sound like a little kid... Your GT is not fast and neither is your V6. Do not talk about fast cars until you have driven them... lol

Ok I am just jumping into this thread and seen a few posts about bashing V6 mustangs or whatever but if you love the car it doesn't matter if its V6 or V8 its still a FORD MUSTANG! its American Muscle its the best looking car from the first year they came out till now in my eyes. Also I am 22 years old live on my own and can't afford a GT or better Mustang but I can afford to add stuff to it over time... If you are young and not rich and can't afford a V8 why are you a ricer? I thought Mustang enthusiast love Mustangs not just the motor........ I love my V6 call it what you want its still a Mustang and it still puts many cars on the street to shame.

For the money spent on the v6, it can dish out a real wallop...especially if you arrange a meeting with Mr Carol Shelby...Ive seen 6ers with over 400 rwhp for still less then a Gt premium...money for money...

Though you S/C the GT and the v6's new name is Mud...but they where never meant to be categorized the same anyways...I love them both...for what they are...I don't understand the bashing on either side...I think the people that MUST bash another persons Mustang is as Relative to the size of their "...." as small as it would be.

My car with 2.73's, bone stock runs 16.1 in a 1/4 mile. But mine came with 3.27's and many bolt-ons now, including subframe connectors.

High to mid 14s is not slow by late 1980 to early 1990 standards with the technology that was avaliable at the time. I am impressed that there are four and six cylinder cars on the market now that can run those times or better with fewer cylinders because of modern technology but to say that a stock 5.0 is slow is unfair because it has been out of production since 95 and alot has changed. When the fox was at the top of its game there were only a few cars that were faster and they all cost more money (buick grandnational, corvette) and the talon/eclipse was almost as quick but cost 3-6k more money to buy new. Long live any car that is cutting edge for its time period including the foxbody.

Just reminding everyone the 87 5.0 was a real performer in its day. Until the Corvette got the LT1 engine 5.0 coupes at the track could give them a headache.

87 5.0 Coupe
Remove air silencer, bump up timing, run a short belt and take out spare tire and jack and remove passenger seat. Powershift.Thats a recipe for a 13 sec run with $10 spent for the belt.
Best engine ever? No.
Great bang for the buck yeah.

My point. Dont bash the poor old 5.0. Without it who knows if there would still even be a Mustang. The Mustang might of just been the Ford Probe.

V-8 Guys dont bash the V6. Since it makes up the majority of sales its the backbone of keepin the Mustang rolling. Is it the fastest? No. But its a great starting point for a build up or it works great for someone who just likes the Mustangs looks and does not care about timeslips.

Funny how on Chevy forums those guys have more respect for the 5.0 than some Mustang Lovers!!!
