I hate to be the naysayer guys but he won by like wut seems like 10 cars from a roll. Not saying it can't be done but from a 5.0 with H/C/I it would be extremely difficult to win by THAT much on a LS1. JMO. I'm curious about the 1/4 mile times of that car.
thats true.but he had 2.73s,which means probaly he was in that one gear forver, and an auto as well.a while back i ran against an ls1 on the highway, and i had trouble getting into fourth, when i finally got into fourth he still didnt pass me.i was like wtf??lol.so you just never know.
Low 13's bone-stock. Although GM guys will tell you they are all 12 second cars, because one guy pulled a 12.96 once in an SS.
They do come with 2.73 gears, or something like that. With a set of gears, an exhaust, and an intake.......those cars are a handful. If properly driven, of course. They are very torquey and difficult to launch on street tires.
Wow I'm a little late lol, but either way yeah I know bout the ls1's, they can roll out, at the same time they aren't unstoppable, but I'm referring to the 5.0's 1/4 mile times in this case. I'd like to know what he runs, sorry bout the confusion. Guys

That's true, I guess that makes some sense, that's why I really don't like street racing though cuz you really never know , but oh well. Either way so I don't come off as a LS1 ass kisser(jus a realist sometimes), to the original OP good kill bro, and stay safe .

I think fastest for an f-body was like a 12.7 or something. Guy pulled a 1.8 60' on street tires. Hell, even a Ford magazine hit a 12.9 with one! There's been more than a handful of guys that hit 12's stock, but the norm would be mid 13's. If that was an auto 2.73 gear TA i can see how this happened. They are slow as hell.....lucky to hit low 14's and a complete dog from a roll.

That's what I was talking about in my previous post. I believe it was MM&FF that printed an article when GM first made the SS available with the ram air. Evans Smith (who is the same guy that pulled a 13.3 out of a stock S197 GT, btw) drove that SS and pulled a 12.96 out of it. I remember because I got into a debate with a GM nut-hugger on MF about that, and he was able to find the article and post it. Who's to know if GM did something special to that car since they knew it was going to be run for a magazine article? When Motor Trend did a top-end test in the late 90's, the Saleen that was sent to them by Ford miraculously had no side-view mirrors and had wider, stickier tires than those that come on production models. It is no secret that auto manufacturers do little things to test cars to ramp up the the numbers affecting their production models.
However, I've never heard of anyone taking a stock f-body to a 12.7 run. Just like the 12.96 run: I'll believe it when I see it.
