Default ran a new camaro SS tonight....

For 426hp, 6 speed and 3.42 rear end, It is amazingly slow. Redlight on Barker Cypress and West Little York (For all you Houstonians), I had a great launch and stayed ahead half a length and was leaving in second. Great shift to third and then he started to come around me he got even with me, and we both shut it down. Rolled slow and talked, complimented the other, and agreed that we both love american muscle. Nice older guy, late 40's. I just expected a creaming.

Sounds like you had some fun.
Not from the area, how far would say you guys were on your cars before you backed off, 1/8 mile or more?

Id say an 1/8th, maybe a hair short of it. I need my gears, but even with I know I couldn't take him for a 1/4.

I've seen two Camaro's on the street and always thank them for buying American made before anything else comes up.

I agree with you.
I rather see more Camaro's, Challenger's, and the like on the road, rather than all of these ricer Civic's that are supposedly "fast" because they run the 1/4 in 15.5 seconds. Just because I prefer my Mustang, doesn't mean I don't appreciate the next guys American muscle car!

Meh, that was better than my experience with a new Camaro owner. While driving back from Baton Rouge yesterday, I encountered a new Camaro coming towards me in oncoming traffic. I threw a thumbs up and he shot me the finger.

Every Camaro owner around here that i have met are d-bags. all around college age and have no respect for old muscle cars. They also are the worst driver just weaving from lane to lane. I hate them all. They need to read the new Car and Driver that even said on the cover the MUSTANG is the BEST.
