I met up with an Monte Carlo SS tonight at a red light. Don't know exactly what year it was, but probably like an '02 or so.
Anyway, he pulls up and revs the engine I look over and he has what looks to be his wife in the car. Light turns green, we both sit at the green, I was waiting for him to make the move, then he revs and takes off spinning the tires, I just floor it without getting the revs up and take off a hair of second after he does.
However, he actually stays ahead and I don't pull on him until I'm going about 70, as soon as my nose pulls ahead of his I let off the gas, give him a thumbs up

and continue on my way.
He actually surprised me, I thought these cars were slower than that. Perhaps it was because I was a sec too late, or he had some goodies under the hood.
All in all, I beat him by just a 1/4 length. Are those SS really that fast stock, or was it because I took off the line a little too late without bringing the RPM's up first.
