Default 96Gt v. 02celica rice v. merge lane.

Minding my own on my way to work I see a familiar Celica gaining on me some what quick. Except, once they got along side me the driver(a somewhat regular customer) stayed there. One of my biggest pet peeves. This celica has nothing more than "Dual" rice exhaust, and a short "ram" "cold" air intake, however it IS equipped with a boost guage and a racing tach. complete with a shift light. Except, the cars automatic.

Already burining from the 104degree Texas heat I ease on the gas and try to casually pass but he wasnt having that. The celice driver floored it and got up at a pretty rate but it was no match for my Mustang after about an 1/8 of a mile I had atleast 2 cars on him. He followed me to work but only to make an excuse. I asked if I could sit in his car and to my surprise he said yes. This is when I asked him how much boost hes makin, he said none. His story is that he has a leak in his blow off valve that dosent allow the boost to build. THen I said Id take a look. Long story short his story is that I couldnt see the turbo unless I was to put the car on a lift because it ran off of the drive shaft. The cars front wheel drive.

Anywho

How do you run a turbo off a driveshaft?

I dunno but It sounds like a good idea. I dont know how many revs they make but Im sure its enough to create a fair amount of boost.

Sadly there's a V6 SN95 with all sorts of unpainted body panels from other cars, a coolant gauge, nitrous switches and a boost gauge in it and a tach/light for his auto.
The coolant gauge wasn't hooked up
The nitrous switches were for when he got the bottle, they too were not wired to anything, just switchs loose in a cup holder.
The boost gauge was my favorite:
"We had to do a compression test and so my dad hooked it in there, idk why but it fixed it"

I love finding those people though, they're such fun.

1. Find out what year his car is.

2. Post his "driveshaft turbo" claims here in the appropriate board.

3. Find out if he's for real (which would be rather interesting), or a lying ricer idiot.

4. If the latter is correct, print out the thread and give it to him.

Why? Cause it feels good to make stupid people like that realize how dumb they look. The money on all the useless crap couldve gone to something useful. Even a C.A.I is better than a useless boost gauge. It wasnt really that much of a kill it was more of a, damn you and your rice Im merging first cause I got XXX HP and you have none.

Reminds me of a guy who once told me stock rims give you better torque...

Its really not that hard to find out what really makes your car go faster... Why do these guys insist on not doing any research and watching the F&F movies like they actually have car facts in them.
