you got lucky,he was probaly in hurry to go to the local donut shop
street racing is dangerous,so is track racing.racing is racing period.
oil might be on the track, oil might on the road
insurance wont cover track racing
are street racing accidents common?
no
are track accidents?
i think more than street
if you race on the street, dont do it during high traffic hours.most accidents happen like that.but when its on an empty highway, thats different, still illegal.
if you dont wanna take a risk, then dont buy a sports car,or even walk out the door,or race at all.
you cant really say track accidents are more common than street racing accidents. yeah, they might be, but thats mostly because there are 9 second cars running down the track, and anything that fast is unpredictable, of course its gonna crash every once in a while.
a 13-15 second car isnt going to bite it into the wall very often at the track...

Somehow, i have been pulled over three times, 1:for Exhibition of speed and racing on a public roadway, i revved my engine at a del-sol and the cop pulled me over and said i was racing, never heard another word or was contacted by anyone ever again about that, 2: Was driving and cut kind of close in front of this guy to get ahead of the two, because he looked like one of them guys that will sit next to another car doing the exact same speed for miles with a line behind them, well he flipped out and started tailgating and i was on the brakes doing 20 in a 75 as fast as i could without causing obvious damage, so he motions that he is going to call the cops and i pulled out my cell acting like i was gonna as well, didnt call and he got off at the exit, two miles later was pulled over and asked what the heck was going on, i explained the story and he took my license and registration and ran it i guess and then came back and said have a nice day, and 3: was doing a 39 in a 35 on post and got "blue-lighted" by the MPs but they let me off with a warning. Wow that was amazingly long. and sorry to hijack your thread but it seemed appropriate to add here.

I used to own a 1986 Buick Grand National, Had to sell her I got myself into too much trouble. I was in my 20's and got a wreckless driving charge, which after 11 years on my driving record is gone. 120mph in a 60mph zone. If my record hadn't been perfect before getting pulled over, as the state trooper pointed out I would have been arrested on the spot. Looking back after all these years it wasn't worth it. Special insurance is very costly too! Life is too short to run like that on the public roads.
Don't get me wrong I love a good kill, especially against a ricer, be safe out there, you never know what can happen. Especially in the D.C. Metropolitan area, people here cut you off as if you were'nt there.
So, you're going to get dropped from the insurance if you get another ticket and you're still street racing? Seems to me you need to lose it all before you understand what you have.

that or he should understand what he has before he loses it
it's all about how many are on your record. i've gotten 2 stop sign tickets, 4 speeding tickets, and 1 failure to maintain a single lane. only one is on my record, though.
I only "race" up to about 10 over the limit...if im am ever asked..i was not speeding nor racing, i was just accelerating rapidly and enjoying my car.
I dont usually drive more than about 8 or 9 over but ROUTINELY pass cops doin that and they ignore me. Ocassionally when im in a large pack of traffic we all end up doin about 15 or even 20 over...and again...we see a cop and we all slow down to around 10 over ..knowing he clocked us...and they ignore us.
They are looking for someone going 25+ over..but thats just Atlanta. Once im more than 15 miles out of town i hit that 8 over and cruise because they WILL get you on the open road for that..but not down town.
When some jerk flys by me going 20+ over i will wait for him to get about 1/2 mile ahead of me...and speed up to about 15 over and watch for his break lights...anyone else do this? its always worked well..better than a radar detector. lol
