Default 1/3 mile oval kills.

Not me or my car, but I was at Flamboro Speedway near Hamilton Ontario Canada this weekend. They had the King of the Hill spectator racing.

Head to head one lap from a dig. The track is a semi banked oval, banking is progressive.

There were 3 fox mustangs, one had a supercharger, another had some serious work done and the third I am not sure of. There was also a vert S95 running. Other contenders included a 69 Camaro, an RX7, an S10, Ram pickup, a BMW M3 (I think) and a whole pile of non contenders (A taurus, a stratus, a neon and a cadillac.

The Camaro burned the tires coming out onto the track, smoked it from the dig, then let off. Apparantly he was just out there to show the car off. He didnt want to risk damage.

Basically the blown fox was amazingly fast in the straights. Lets call him goober.

Goober's first run had him against the bmw. He took the beemer off the start like the turtle and the hare. In the first turn, goober lets the bmw catch up so beemer comes out of the turn first, then goober lets er rip, blows past the beemer and slows into the turn, the beemer beats him out of the turn then goober opens it up and beats the beemer at the line buy almost 2 lengths.

The sound goober made was amazing

The next up was another fox with a lot of work. He handily beat his first opponent.

The vert won the first run, the s10 won, the RX7 destroyed.

The vert ran the heavily modded fox and lost, then goober ran the rx7. Goober did the same thing he did to the beemer, but coming out of the first turn, he totally lost traction and the rx7 blew him out of the water. goober beat his *** so hard off the dig it was insane, but he blew it in coming out of the corner. I thought he was gonna take the whole thing.

In the end it came down to the heavily modded fox and the RX7. It went down like this. RX7 on the outside. fox gets great start, into the first corner hes ahead. rx7 comes out of the first corner almost dead even, fox pulls him on the straight. 2nd corner, the fox is 2-3 lengths ahead, the rx7 goes tearing into the corner, breaks the rear loose and starts sliding up the track towards the wall. Tires squealing and he just recovered before smoking the wall, the fox blew him away.

That won him a cool grand for no entry fee! Sweet.

I was in the pit area, I run down to the bathrooms and as I am walking along, the RX7 drives by, the guy looked pissed.

When I come back, my wife tells me they had to push the fox off the track. Apparantly something busted Hopefully the repairs are less than a thou.

Anyways, I thought I would share.

And yes, the people I was with were trying to egg me on and get me to take my brand new '10 gt out. Not a chance maybe next time, not now when it has less than 1000 miles on it

that sounds like it was alot of fun to watch. i can understand why the rx7 driver was mad, he has one of the best handling cars of its day and lost to pure american muscle on a track with turns.

Believe me, it was one of the most entertaining things I have seen in a while. The stangs were amazing.

The RX7 was SO close to smoking the wall. He went through turn 2 Tokyo Drifting right at the wall!

I can't wait to see it next time.

I don't think I mentioned this, but the vert was trailered in and had no plates on it when it arrived!
