This story is kind of old. I have not had my 2007 stang since 2008.
I know a guy who has an 87 5.0. He was always talking crap about me owning a V6. He would always say, "the V6 is a chick car or that it wasn't a real Mustang." Keep in mind my stang was all stock except for the exhaust. His 5.0 had a little bit done, mostly appearance. One night after work, it was about 11:45, and we were heading home. I was right on side of him when we came up to the redlight. I revved my engine and he revved his. I pretty much knew that I would lose this race. He rolled down his window and said, " let's go on the highway". So we did. We slowed down to about 20 MPH, 1st gear for me. He blew his horn 3 times and we hit it. I pulled on him in 1st gear. I continued pulling in 2nd and 3rd. As I shifted into 4th gear at about 98mph I hit the brake. I look in my mirror and all I seen was his headlights. I have to say, it was a great feeling. I didn't spin the tires at all on takeoff, and I power shifted the heck out of my stang. He pulled up next to me and said, " let's go to the walmart parking lot to talk." So we went, and he admitted that my car was impressive. He said that he had definately underestimated my car. He no longer talks crap about my V6's. I don't have my 07 any more, but I do still have an 02 and 04 V6. Well, that is my kill story from a while back. I hope you enjoyed it. I know I did.

Reason: Grammar/Typo
I used to talk smack about the sixes too until I bought one. She's my first Mustang and I love her. The S197s make nearly the same power as the 5.0s did. I just read that the '11 V6 will be a 3.7 between 270 and 300 HP. That will be SAWEEET!!!! As long as the prices don't go up much.
I would definately buy one of those. I could always use more Mustangs. A 3.7L? That is weird, but 270-300 HP. Who could argue with that? If the price is not too rediculous I might get one.
Yeah. Well if they use direct injection like I believe they are, they can afford to go with a smaller displacement while increasing HP AND fuel economy. It may also be built similar to the Ecoboost 3.5 in the Taurus, which means that it COULD be possible to get it factory twin-turboed, like the Taurus. Lots of possibilities.
I ran a automatic 08 V6 with some mods and it surprised the hell out of my 5.0. i took him only cause i took off the line faster other than that it hung with me all the way through 70MPH.
I don't hate on V6 Mustangs, But i do agree their for the ladies. They sound like **** 90% the time and the 8 always sounds way better. i would rather have a slower v8 than a faster shity sounding v6 lol.

Look at it from my point of view...Spend $14k I can barely afford on a really nice used V6, or $26k I can't afford on a not as nice looking V8. I chose the six, and if you heard mine.....let's just say that most people think it's a built V8 just by the way it sounds. They drop their jaws when I tell em it's a stock V6 with dual exhaust.
My 6 kept up with a 99-04 GT all the way to 80MPH when I backed off because of traffic. I was in the right lane, he was in the middle. I pulled in behind him to get passed slower vehicle (we were only going 20-30MPH). As soon as I got into is lane he floored it...so I followed suit. He never once pulled away from me any farther than he was when we started.
If you buy a Mustang, V6 or V8...it's still a Mustang. We buy what we can afford or buy what we prefer. I'm a V8 guy only but i think it would be cool to have a fast V6 that can surprise people. I agree about exhaust not sounding good for the 04 and older but the 05 and new actually can sound good.
I know we call have our opinions but I wouldn't go into the V6 section or a story about a V6 and knock on them. Also I think little foreign cars are for the ladies and I've known several ladies that drive V8's.

Oh and while were on the subject of comparisons, I could have afforded a new 2010 GT deluxe coupe in Grabber Blue which they had on the lot...
I Chose to go with the now old 2009 S197 (in dark candy apple red). I fell in love with these cars back in '05 and I think they look better than the current redesign... plus I'm really into the 45th anniversary logo badge.
Speaking of exhaust, they have a true dual kit for the V6 that includes x pipe on www.newtakeoff.com for $299. It comes with GT mufflers. That's a good price for a dual setup, just needs 4" tips for the back of my car.

Just curious if you have heard a hi flow catted H pipe, with mac long tubes, and mac catback on an 04 or older V6?

A lot of people underestimate the 4.0s. Stock may only have 210hp, but 240 lbs of torque sounds good to me. I love my sixer, sure it doesn't sound like a GT but it's good enough for me.
And the 3.7 is supposed to have close to or the same horsepower of the current GT. Ford said since the ecoboost v6 is only like 50hp less than the new 5.0 they are going to hold it off for a while. So even if my dad doesn't want to buy the new 5.0 I can talk him into trading in my v6 with the new v6.

Heard an 04 V6 with Mac longtubes, pypes x pipe and pypes dual exhaust. Even the owner didn't really care for the sound but was happy on power. Also what I prefer will be different from anyone else, it only matters what you think and what makes you happy.
