Patstang's 2006 Mustang Gt run with Lime Green Charger
Taking a run back toward home, I was caught up in traffic on a 2 lane state highway. A green Charger ( not a V6 ) moves by me at a good clip. I was doing about 65 mph, so he must have been doing 75 or so. Traffic frees up and there is no one between he and myself so...... Down shift to 3rd and nail it. Nail it in 4th; by this time he has seen me coming so he nails it with a little jerky motion as if I caught him sleeping. I caught him and was still in 4th and able to pull past him if I didn't have to slow for an upcoming ramp. Yes, he was trying, too. I was pulling on him in 4th, so it wasn't like I blindsided him, either. Those cars must be heavy. I know it wasn't a V6, but don't think it was the biggest motor ( no R/T badging). It didn't have the single exhaust or skinny tires.
Running about town a few weeks after, I see him again and wave out of the window. No response. Next time, same thing. Whatever.
I wouldn't put this one in the "win" column. Sounds like you attempted a fly-by?
the better way to start this race would have been to roll up beside him, blip your throttle, and see if he bites.

I would have not tried a "Fly By". That's way too ricer and immature. I was attempting to catch him which I did. Had I been going further , I would have given him the blip. If we look at my thread, I was bottled up in traffic at the time ( driving prudently and safely). I never said it was a "win", I said I was pulling on him AFTER I caught him. I didn't "Start a Race", I was shortening the distance between our two cars. What might have happened after that... I guess that comment about "Fly By" got me riled up.
