2002 GT Mustang v.s. 1999 Cobra Mustang

both stangs are in our club Mustang Speed Kingz.
99 cobra is bone stock at the time of the race which happend awhile ago but figured id share it.
2002 gt has underbody work for handling and suspension work as well. CAI not sure of type and a hyper tech tune of some sort. also Mac longtube headers and slp exhaust no cats.
they were at a roll of 35 in a 65mph zone. both gunned it but the gt pulled slowly ahead but not by much. very close race as the gt took home the win.

now there gonna have a rematch as the cobra has full out exhaust and headers not sure of brand i believe he said magna flow and an JLT CAI, with a two step tune of some sort done by db performance in MN.
the 2002 gt has a new t56 tranny and a different tune by sct.

who do you think will win the rematch ?

yep...the cobra has full exhaust done now and its magnaflow with an off road x pipe as well. the two step tune is sct and done by a shop by DB Performance in Minnasota.
The gt has the t56 tranny and different tune setup from sct i guess he said he had them program it at the shop. He also installed a mid pipe i believe an slp deal H pipe for lower sound.

So we'll see what happens!!!

If the race would have gone a little more than 65mph, the Cobra would have edged it out. The GT was in it's power band i bet.

Heck, when i had my 95GT with CAI, TB, H pipe, catback and 3.73's, vs. my friends 96 Cobra with CAI, H pipe, Catback, 4.10's and some suspension, we raced from a 25mph roll and i put like 3-4 car lengths on him but by 80mph, he was around 5-6 car lengths on me. The GT will always be in it's power band at low mph races.
I'm still betting on the Cobra though.
