I never get baited, but this import got me good. I took Ms. Betty out for a solo cruise after having some new mods put on. I turned the corner while on the phone with my wife, and saw this primed out import. The import had no badging at all. It looked like a Honda with a HUGE fart can out the back. The import was attempting to exit a gas station when I cruise on by. He pulls up to me at a light and says, "Your stang sounds and looks awesome man". I say thanks, the light turns green and I cruise away.
This guy romps on it, past me, and meets me at the next light. I dont hear a supercharger, nor turbo, nor do I friggin care at this point. Ive been so tired of these imports buzzing around my car like blowflys around a cadaver...So I hang up the phone with my wife who was nagging me to begin with, and turn off my radio. I meet him at the next light, which he sat at when green, waiting for me...Oh boy...He asked, "Do you race?" I said, "No, but I am making an exception with you". The road was desolate, so I was ready...So I thought
The light turns green I eat him off the line, and then while entering 3rd, the import flys by me like I was parked !! We stop at the next light and I say, "Turbo?"...He reply's, "Yup, and all wheel drive".
I am not into imports and don't know what the hell this car was, but not only did I get Baited...I got eaten alive. I was planning on staying N/A, but caught myself pricing F/I when I got home

the mods in your sig tell a completely different story.....you should be in the mid to high 12's.....very few import all wheel drives can compete with that in top end....
that import should have dogged you outta the whole and you should have passed him....not the other way around....he probably had nitrous....most likely...

all wheel drive would be wrx or evo most likely. syou would have heard the turbo whine. im going with he had nitrous cause turbos make noise you would have heard that. this kid i know has a busted ass 240 that he threw nitrous on and did the same thing. they not really fast just fakers.

An evo or sti would have got off the line quicker than you but have less top end. I call nitrous as well. Id say it was probably an older Z car or some other RWD car cus the light FWD cars would have got a bit of a jump on you as well, unless they messed up.
It wasn't an older Z, and not an STI...I agree with the possibility of the NOS. I would have heard the turbo spooling up, as others pointed out. Iam not a track guy, but even with the import spraying, I feel I should have taken him, maybe Iam wrong... I dont know fellas...

if it had a turbo, you would have heard the blow off valve. especially if he passed you that hard, it wouldn't have been stock boost.
There are a couple of scubies, and a few evo's I can think of that could have thrown down like that. I see an old Integra that is primered, but sounds like something is lurking under the hood.

I was on the Brenspeed web page today looking at the options...That was until my wife laughed at the prices I really dont want to go with NOS, so I will wait patiently.
A 4 cylinder needs nitrous to beat a v8... sad. I would have asked at the end if he has ever seen F&F. They all see the first movie and the only thing that pops into their heads is "nitrous". Stupid ricer boys.
with nitrous and their light weight, i can see that happening. He could of had an engine swap too, you never know.
I had nitrous on my 05GT for awhile. Pretty much had everything you can get for it. Before cams, i was at 293rwhp. With the 100 shot, running a real safe AF ratio it was at 368rwhp (380rwhp before bumping the AF a little safer). The only down fall to me, if if was a cold morning or even a cool day, it would still take a while for the bottle warmer to get the bottle up to the right PSI. The waiting would suck. I had to race a z28 on motor due to that, still beat him though.

dont feel bad man, one of my friends drives a honda civic hatch that is engine swapped and all motor. he ran a 13.5 all motor, and a 13.1 on the bottle, some of them can run really well if they are built right

The only way an sti or evo can beat you off the line is if they are smart enough to get the turbo spooling before launch. Otherwise you eat them alive from the get go every single time.
