Default Mustangs Street Racing Videos on Youtube

Hey, i know this topic may have been discussed before but i think it should be covered again....

If you're ever on youtube watch a few mustang races against your typical rice machine, it is usually done from the point of view of the rice machine, so all you see is the mustang.... Most times you will see that the race is done from a roll of 50-60mph..... why would somone who knows much about their car would race a stang from a roll.... IMO Mustangs are not very good for this due to gear, characterristics of the engine (unless your in a Terminator, Shelby GT500), i was wanting to know if my assumptions are right? Im not trying to start a war or anything but from what im seeing running from a roll is really disgracing mustangs. I always have to tell them to race from a dead stop and the outcome would be a completly different ball game....

thanks guys

I will bow to more knowledge that I learn from you guyz

The forte of a v-8 is torque down low. If your car hooks and has a v-8 you should be able to get the jump on a car that relies on a high revving 4 banger to get moving. Racing has so many variables other than engine type and country of origin. Weight, traction, areodynamics, driver skill etc. all play a role. On you tube the biggest role player is the guy behind the camera. Of course the rice driver posting the beating of a mustang is not going to post the beating he took the night before when he ran into mr. gearhead 5.4 Shelby stuffed in fox body. Search youtube for mustang wins and you will see the opposite. Mr. Flowmasters only isn't going to post the beating he took from the 30lb boosted Evo when he has the 89 body kit civic to show getting thrashed.

A lot of videos I find are about 3 seconds long, and just consist of a ricer "passing" a mustang. Sadly though, the other ricers on youtube actually believe that the mustang got owned. So when the idiots do race they go home with a headache from thinking too much about how they lost.

from 50 I'm good.....
but I guess I'm a little different
but yea, I learned a long time ago youtube is full of nothing but jokes who know nothing about cars and only put comments up to help convince themselves that a stock civic beat a GT. Because they can then go out later that night and race one and feel better when they are ahead for a second before they think the race is over lol.
