Default 302 vs 351w??????

Sorry about this post. Kind of a rant at this point as I'm quite sure I know the answer. There is this kid at UTI here in PA I got talking to about foxbodies. After telling me that he has a 87 LX I told him I have an 87 GT that I'm building a 351w for. He then proceeded to tell me how putting a 351 in a foxbody is the worst idea ever. Said something about the 351 weighing a lot more and all. Then he says,"man my 302 will blow the doors off your 351 gt any day of the week." I almost laughed in his face when he told me what he had done to the car.
-cold air intake
-i forget what upper and lower he said he had
-gears
-suspension work
-clutch
-shifter
-driveshaft
-b303 cam

I asked him what heads he had on there and he told me stock. Everything that I have read leads me to believe that he isn't making more than 250 at the wheels with this setup. My question to you is, do you think I could take him? 351w with comp cams .512 lift .212/.218 duration cam, windsor Sr. heads(gasket matched), professional products intake, 24 lb injectors blah blah blah. In my eyes I can't even really see his car touching mine. Opinions?

PS. Sorry bout the rant, guy got me worked up a bit with his arrogance

Theres no chance in he!! he'd ever touch you. Those 351's spew torque. Why professional products intake i must ask?

I decided upon that because it seems to fit the profile of the engine I want to end up with. It seems to offer decent low end toque and breathes well. Its pretty much the same as the Edelbrock performer intake.

No replacement for displacement, now whether you can put it to the ground is a whole other question altogether.

They do weight more but with mods and the torque it'll make, his 302 is going need some mods or nitrous.

Well at least you got the sub frame connectors that's a start that 351 will put a hurtin on that chassis.

Depending on what suspension work and weight work he may have done, you may be in trouble. It is not always about HP.

If you can't put it to the ground, you lose. Put some Nittos (555's) on the back before you go after him.

Raced a Nova that sounded pretty sick. I only have H/C/I, all bolt ons. Nova's are fast as hell. We were at the stop light and his friends was laughing at the stang. Gave him the nod, light turned green and he was still at the light leaving a smoke show while I was ahead buy some margin. He was pretty pissed. I said let's go again. Next light, same thing. He was going sideways while I was again ahead by a considerable margin. Next light he wouldn't even look at me. I am sure if he had some slicks he would have smoked me and left me standing still....but he didn't. Power is nothing without traction.
