I recently raced a 325 bmw with my v6 mustang and I beat em so bad that I couldn’t see him no more anyways a v6 mustang will beat a 525 easy don’t forget how heavy the 5 series is, there is something about the v6 I have a 2001 and its manual its much faster that automatic I changed the exhaust and I put a racing filter that’s all I did but I could feel the difference.. Where I live its filled with beemers a v6 manual stang will beat up to a 330 or 535 bmw I think with no problem.. I raced an audi TT few month ago and I beat it like three time with no problem and i beat a saab the normal one with no problem I raced a 740 automatic I beat it at start then it caught up to me after the forth gear he was up by like half a car but that’s even before I changed the exhaust and filter.

They were like 90’s im not a big fan of beemers though they’re everywhere here.. we have a lot of evos and Subaru imprezas here dim Japanese cars are fast as hell
