I have been cruising and hunting for some new cars to run me.....but no one will run me! No, I don't have a big ego, because I know there is some fast cars running around that could
I haven't lost any races in a long while, but then again, I haven't really run up against anything to extreme. I haven't been choosing things I will beat, but what ever I think will be fast.
Lately though, I have challenged a couple 350Z's, a hot C5 Vette, a couple of nice is300's, a SRT4, etc.....they line up with me, but as soon as I rev it a bit, they back down!
So, I see this hot looking 350z sitting at the local 7/11. I pull up a pretend to be going into the store and stop to talk with the owner about his car. Sitting next to him is a nice acura V6 (not sure what model) nicely done. I ask the 350z after some nice comments about his car if he wanted to run me. He says "I know who you are, no way I'm going run you, that car is bad ass". I'm like....my car?....it only runs mid-13's?....he says "no way dude, I've heard about your car".....from who?...he won't say...but then says..."there is a Supra that wants to run you, so watch out"....I'm like OK?
I don't know how this happened, but it really bums me out. My cars exhaust sounds pretty mean and I drive it hard? I went with kind of low, all business kind of look. I did beat on a different 350z pretty hard the other day. But I don't believe he was really running me anyways. Maybe there is a different Cobra running around? I don't know it bugs me! Maybe I should lose a race or two to get the local kids some confidence?

Thats funny man!!! I think they just know not to mess with a mustang because you never know what their packen. its possible you've got a friend who might bend the truth a bit, may be telling people that you got something under your hood that should not be messed with. i had a friend who was telling a few lies about my car, to make it seem faster then it is. told someone i ran in the 13s when he knows i've never ran it!!! he crazy.

How is that a bad thing? I would get such a kick out of being feared around town. You get to feel mighty, because no one dares challenge you. Yeah, maybe a lot of them could run with you. It's not like you're in a slow car, after all, it is a Cobra. I know for me, any Cobra I see, I instantly respect and am a little bit intimidated. I think I woud still be intimidated even if I were in a Vette.

Hey I feel ya dude. I have a hard time getting races myself. Everyone knows me because I work at a speed shop. The only cars that wanna mess with me are ussually 03/04 cobras making 475+ RWHP. But it's cool knowing that people fear racing you. I haven't had a good race in a while.
Sounds like it's time for a new set of rims and a different paint job, Glen.
You could maybe even get some bumpers and a hood and decklid from a V6,
remove the Cobra badges for safe-keeping, and then, even the lowliest ricers
will want to line up. Imagine the crushed hopes of ignorant new ricers who
think that even a V6 Stang is that much faster than the ugly, slow, and cheap
car they are driving.

Well....I have decided to enjoy the reputation. Today I went and circled the local ricer hang out. Around, around, around, and around I went .They were watching me like a hawk. It was fun

Don't you just love taunting the trolls. I mean on the boards AND at the ricer hangouts
