80's somthing Kill story This story takes place in the early 80's in rural redneck GA. (I was born and raised there so I'm not degradeing anyone!!!) I have had my liscense for about 2 months and was leaving a party at about 3am. I was driving my Dodge Charger 2.2 a very quick car for that era. I was on US. 41 headed south and got challenged by a VW Sirocco for $20.00 and took the challenge with a smile as I had smoked many before. We were racing to the next stop light (about 5 mi.) as I pulled him by quite a few car lengths I came over a rise and there was a sheriffs deputy sitting on the side of the road, as I passed him he put the blue lights on I just decided to pull over while the VW turned off and got away! Now this deputy fit every Hollywood rural town cop you've ever seen, He was tall fat, chewed tobacco and called me nothing but boy the whole time!! Anyway he gets my liscense and insurance and tells me to follow, yes follow him in my car to the 24 hr. court house ( why they had one here I'll never know!!!) we get there and he walks me to a trailer home and says "wait here a min. boy". 5 min. later he comes out and escots me to the judge, who in my memory has to be the judge from the song The night the lights went out in GA. He looks at me and say "BOY your very lucky you were beating that Jap piece of S@#$ so you only get a $50.00 fine now get outta here". COMPLETELY DUMBFOUNDED I paid my fine and walked out to never hear of this incident again, Oh and by the way he clocked me at 115mph in a 45 zone. Man I wish some things were still they way they were then!!!
