Hey everybody, I'm pretty new here. I just got my 91 lx a few weeks ago, it's got 3.73's, mac equal lengths, and a short shifter. I was running back to work tonight to grab my jacket I left there, and I hit a stoplight. This infiniti came flying up to the stoplight, taunting me to race. My cars pretty ballsy so I went for it. I have not mastered launching or shifting hard at all, but I got him out of the hole and had at least a car length on him until I let off. Then he let me catch back up after he flew by, and got me from a 45 mile roll (yeah I know don't race from a roll). Then we stopped at the light and talked for a minute, he was actually a cool guy, no ricer attitude at all. Asked me what I had, said it was pretty fast. I can't wait till I have a run in with somebody after I get my h-pipe, cat-back, intake, etc.... Should be fun. Just thought I would share my first race experience with you guys.
1992 Deep Emerald Green Mustang GT Hatch, 5 speed, 2.73s, Mac fenderwell cold air intake, '93 Cobra MAF, Mac 70mm throttle body & spacer, Explorer intakes, Mac unequal headers & offroad pipe, Magnaflow catback, Walbro 110lph fuel pump, Jet adjustable FPR, MSD Blaster coil, Accel 8mm wires, FRPP aluminum quadrant, UPR firewall adjuster, stock cable, Granatelli upper control arms.
Waiting to go on: Granatelli lower control arms, and GT40 Iron heads!
I've got a buddy with an 03' G35 - one day, just farting around I was able to take him from a dead stop. From a roll though, I think he has the distinct advantage....

Nice, that first kill is always sweet, and it wasn't against a second rate car either, so it's even better.
I know, I know, I just had to add that we recently bought a used QX4 Infiniti and DAM, it's a nice truck, my second favorite auto I've had ever had, so much nicer than our V8 Explorer (but no where near the power).

I got a G35 kill on a roll with my 96 Firebird. This dude was riding the left lane and anytime someone tried to pass him he'd nail it and even get you in the 100's if he had too to keep you from passing. Then sometimes the S.O.B. would even slow and then ride wing with a good citizen in the right lane so you couldn't pass. After 20 miles of this nonsense and being pretty pissed by now myself I knew a long straight away was coming up so I drafted him while he was doing his left lane antics doing around 60 MPH (i.e. rode his arse very tight ) downshifted to 3rd, whipped out and the race was on. It was a hell of run and it took me about a mile but I squeaked out past him. Needless to say, he got to stare at my tail-lights for the next 10 miles. Two can play that game. He was one really p**sed off dude. Oh well, he made the rules. He just didn't like to play by them.

I was so annoyed I did consider "rubbing" his brand spanking new rear bumper with my ol' 96 "Tired"bird but I thought better. It was very tempting though. When I finally did have to make my trun-off at a light he rolled up beside me talking crap about how he wasn't paying attention and I should try $#&@ that when he was "paying attention". B.S.! He gave that "Sport Luxury Sedan" all she had plus I think the wuss was afraid (or didn't know how to) wind er out. I just laughed at him and waved him off. What a Donkey he was.
