Felt bad till I saw teh boost guage and the NX. I was beating the crap outta'him, till he all of a sudden started accelerating like a 327.

I was like, what the he**??!!?

Then I was like, ok . . ..

Power braking is tough on motor mounts espicially if you have a motor with a lot of torque you can tear the motor mounts apart... Power braking also heats up the tranny( actually the torque converter). reving in neutral and slamming into gear? i dont know new transmissions but my 67 (C4 tranny), on accident i rev it in neutral, thought i was in d but pulled in into drive, hell the thing acted like it was still in neutral till 1700 rpm your something and then kind of clunked in. i would assume this is still a saftey feature in a new trannys too....

It doesn't do a lot of damage.

THEORETICALLY, it could, as the heat builds up in the fluid, and some might get squeezed tnto the bands on newer trannies, but the chances are negligible.

That's really bad, it's not the computer that's going to fail, it's the gears that're getting the shock of their lives.

sooner or later one of the bands, and/or gears are going to strip.

Little Update.

Came home for the weekend, so me and my friend went out to play pool. so we raced there a little bit, but too much traffic. (this is my friend with the Civic)

On the way back it was nearing 1 am... so we're going back and forth... no traffic, safe, calm.

We can't catch a light to save our lives so all we could do were from rolls.
There is where I hate automatic. He downs to second and pulls I need to wait for my car to realize I need it to downshift so My car lags a bit and eventually catches up out torques and out runs. but he definetly has me by then. Other times wehn we down shift at the same time we go pretty even and I tug a bit on him but he tugs right back so it's like dead even, and when i catch the downshift first I wreck him like he does me. so i guess we're pretty even right now but we both have upper hands in different places. as for from the line it will all count on the launch we guessed. Right now ever since i fixed the MAF I can launch from 2500 and not bog out to much. I tested my 0-60 and not so accuratly I would say i did it between 7-9 seconds... which is pretty damn amazing for me. so if he got the launch he would ahve the race if he didnt then i would. I figure some Underdrive pullies, roller rockers 1.8 and a chip or not even a chip should help give me a sure edge.

So we'll see, as for now, we're pretty even. GOod race. his car is nice now not lough not blary or blingy, a nice crisp sleeper like civic, looks really good, Like what he has done to the car.

depends on the type of chip you want!

for just a tune and shift points, any one of 'em will do - Diablo, SCT, etc.

You can take the chip out when you go for service. the folks with the warranty will never know!
