STi ?

Just a few minutes ago I raced an STi in my 96 gt. My car is all stock except for a k&n intake.

From a rolling start at 40, we gunned it to 85 and were dead even the whole way. I didn't kill the subi, but it didn't kill me either. If we didn't run out of room who knows what would have happened.

I really don't think it was a real STI. Those things are dam fast right out the box. Maybe it was just badged as an STI. O well good run anyways.

A few minutes ago ! do you have a laptop on your lap why you are driving?
I might believe you if you were in a MACH 1 , not a "96GT"!

GUYS!!! STI's aren't fast!!! They are quick off the line because of their AWD!!!! That's IT!!! They trap about 98-100 MPH... That's not saying much. Ya, maybe the guy couldn't drive that well, but still. It was a drivers race. Plus 40-85 MPH isn't the longest race either. That's only about 3-4 seconds in my car

Mana the guy is in a stock 96 GT. The STI wasnt racing him for sure.

Yea no doubt my car couldn't even beat a stock GTP when I was all stock. The stock 1/4 time on a 96-98 GT in like 15.2 it sucks!

You were racing a WRX. From a stop, even a regular WRX would hand you your behind.

No, It happened about 2 miles from my house.

It very well may have not been an sti, but it was badged as one. If you look the title I gave this thread was "STi ?" Meaning I was somewhat unsure of whether it was actually an sti. If he wasn't really racing me, the guy had some shifting issues because he was leaned forward and shifting like a maniac gripping the wheel real hard. Off the line there's no doubt that even a 2.5rs would rape me because of the awd. But at 5k they have no balls.

The STIs sound different you will know if it is a STI you could have taken a normal WRX hell I can beat one of those but a STI even if he couldn't shift would have killed you I'd say not raceing or a mis-badged WRX

No it was a normal WRX hatchback it was close but I kept at least a half length on him. the race story is on here somewhere
