I woulda taken my mag light and smashed his window at the red light....forget racing, I can't believe he throw a can at your car. Racing would be the last thing on my mind.

Maybe you shoulda told the cop he throw a soda can at your car...maybe oyu could get him in a little more trouble. lol

Had something like that happen to me once too. Guy pulls right up on my back bumper and flips me off. Hanging out the window calling me a POS. Light turns green and I just sat there. Didn't move 1 inch(single lane rd). Continued to sit there until the light turns yellow and just before it turns red I take off. Well, the dumb a$$ decides he is going to take off also and nails it, flying right up on me again. This time, I brace myself for impact, stand on the brake and grabbed the e-brake. He slams into the back of me and pushes me about 50ft. I get out of the car and run to his car pulling him out of the car and proceeded to beat him to a pulp. Long story short, after the lawsuit, I had enough for a 347 stroker and a KB S/c. Life is good..

i think putting your foot on a brake and bracing for impact while you see a guy heading toward you is just as insane as the guy whos trying to ram you.in fact, this is a strange account on multiple levels.a stranger decides to ram you and you let him do it by bracing for impact.then this stranger hits you hard enough to push your car 50ft and you jump out,run back, and beat him to a pulp?afterwards you sue this insane yet apparently well insured man and wind up with a new motor and supercharger?i understand getting into the spirit of a discussion but as that corvette driving fellow would say-I CALL BS ON THIS STORY-sorry. then again, maybe superman walks among us and his name is rj8806

I am far from "superman", more like a ticked off driver with more balls than brains . Call it road rage or stupidity, I don't care. As for the "spirit of the discussion", don't care about that either. Just relaying what happened to me. I did not sue him, I collected from his insurance company because he destroyed my car and made it a hood ornament. One thing I cannot stand is having some idiot act like a lunatic and run up on my a$$ so close that i don't even see headlights in the rearview. That just rubs me the wrong way, kinda like a sore loser that decides to pass you like your standing still after you've already destroyed them and slowed down. I personally don't care if you believe me or not. Don't know you from Adam and my 347 and S/c begs to differ. Happy Motoring

Thanks, I think, for the concern of my well being, but what's strange to me is relaying my experience only to have it called BS? I guess "lawsuit" was the wrong word and I should've said insurance settlement? It was indeed a very strange incident, one I don't plan on repeating. Definitely was not one of my more brighter ideas.... but I do like the new motor and S/C

Adrenaline is funny thing... I'm not going to lie and say it didn't hurt. I was sore for days after that. My wife works for a chiropractor. I was there for several visits. I did brace for impact but the key is not to stiffen up. That was the first accident I was in that I was driving.
Like I said, definitley not one of my brighter idea's.

I've been a fireman for many years, and no way is any man going to get out and run and fight after a hit hard enough to push him the length of half my block.Especially when that hit is so hard it slammed him that length with his foot on the brake and emergency brake on.You already admited stretching it with the lawsuit story.May as well just admit that the hit pushed you maybe 5 inches.I'm not trying to be an idiot about it but i had to handle a real hit like that last week and it just doesnt happen the way you say it did.A 50 foot hit and you'd still be waking up

o.k. Fireman lets think about this.... the car I was driving at the time is about 18.5ft. Therefore 50ft is only about 2 1/2-3 car lengths(not very far at all). I did not admit to "stretching the lawsuit story", i admitted to choosing the wrong word.
As for this thread, I am done. Forgive me for sharing my incident, I am not going to debate with anyone anymore whether it happened or not. As i previously stated, I do not care about your opinion. You know the old saying I'm sure... opinions are like ........ everybody has them.
On a side note, I see from your profile that you are from NY and since you just stated you are a fireman may I just say God Bless You and your fellow firefighters.
