So im coming home from work and i have to make a right turn... so i look to my left to see if anyone is coming and there is a silver 02-ish (not the new one) civic si, lowered with a fart can. So i turn and stop next to him at a left turn signal. It turns green and we both make the turn and then i hear is fart can farting so i gun it and blow right passed him like he's nothing!!! i seriously probably got like 6-8 cars on him before 70mph... then i slow down and go the speed limit and he just stays that far behind me. The only reason i posted this is because i always thought the si's were supposed to be the "faster" civics, but it really doesn't seem like it. A guy i know has one and always says how he can take me... now i have proof that he doesn't know what he is talking about.

You know if mustangs had the technology some of those ricers have, imagine how fast the mustang will be, but then again, the cost would be too much to benifit from it. Imagine a v8 with a powerband all the way to 8K!

Redhot, whats your 1/4 time with your 5.0? i see your 1/8 mile and was just curios. I raced a new civic SI on the track and he did a 15.8 @ 91, and i did a 13.9 @ 101, it wasnt even a close race, but those cars are really not slow for what is under the hood. only 2.0 liters and it has 200HP, pretty impressive. my car is a 4.6 with 300, so if i had the power per liter my car would have 460 HP! Normal asperated

Last time i ran the quarter i got a 15.6, burning the tires through 1st gear, back in january... and that was with a 10.1 eighth mile time. So now im running 9.6's so i'd guess im at least running in the 14's quarter mile. And ford does have the technology that honda has... just look at the new shelby... 5.4 liter DOHC supercharged... simply amazing.

The new shelby's engine is almost identical to the Ford GT's engine, but they are not normally asperated, they are supercharged. What i was saying about Honda engines is that they make 1 HP per liter normal asperated. My 4.6 would have to make 460 to match it, or your 5.0 to make 500 HP to match it. I'm not knocking on ford powerplants, they are awesome for how much we pay for them, but i was just commending the technology Honda puts into theirs. Just like our GM or Dodge counterparts, they are using Cubic Inches to make power and not using Forced induction like ford.

But as I said in another thread that just isn't practical for a Mustang, such a high reving V8 has a short lifespan. But its fun just to play with the numbers. That same Ferrari makes about 114hp/liter, so if the Mustang had the same hp/liter........524hp ahhh oh well, 300 still puts a smile on my face.
