Hmm the stock GTO L 6.0 V8 has the identical 0-60 speed as the 06 GT manual tran at 5.1. It's a pretty sad car that has to have an extra 100 hp just to equal the 4.8. Don't know if the LS1 is faster, but the stock GTO L is equal but not faster. Soure Automobilemag.com

I know when I was shoping this year for a new car, I test drove both the GT and the GTO. I think that is the best way to compare, not just reading what a car mag has to say.
But if we have to compare based on a mag, tell the whole story. Your sourse does not say that the GTO and GT have identical 0-60. According to http://www.automobilemag.com/reviews...gto/specs.html
the GTO is 5.1 and the Mustang is 5.6. Both claims are slower than other the manufacturers and other mags have gotten.
She is probably afraid to get that close to redline.
Still you put someone in a car that's faster than a stationwagon and they immediately think they can beat a Mustang. Because as we all know [wink] they only *look* fast.

I have an 04 gto and can't get any new mustangs to run with me. what do the new mustangs top out at?
Take it to the track and I'm sure you would get some mustangs to run you. The LS1 GTO isn't much quicker than the new Mustang GT, if at all I would think. The LS2 GTO is quicker, at least from what I've seen at the track. Saw a brand new one with plates on it, running quicker than even slightly modded 05 +Mustang GT's. Somebody above mentioned 0-60 from a few months ago??? Are there 0-60 tracks? Who races 0-60, it's simply a benchmark.

Forgot to crack the window and blew the damn

Car. The installer came to fix it and said " Hot

My sister had to spend $1,500 to bail me out of jail.
Freaking Arizona.
What kind of a sick demented idiot would want to live here??
