If you are serious about this, and are not pulling anyones legs, well i have a friend who use to drive a 1955 or 56 ford truck, matching numbers with a streight six, paint is all f'ed up but, the body is in perfect conditon, like PERFECT! plus it is an arozona truck so that = RUST FREE. it is a really sick truck and i really wanted him to fix it up but he never got the money. his dad has it now but it is just siting in his garage. if you want, i can talk to him. wouldn't mind helping you both out.
PS i kinda read just the first few response on this one. um, also at first i thought you ment the shoe PINKS! so i was dissapointed at the start. i agree though, kind of a weird story......

seriously, who just randomly races for pinks? I started laughing before I even read the thread....the title was enough. If this is a true story the guy in the GTO is fat out retarded.

I actually drove one Sunday. They wanted invoice but included for free the 7 year or 70,000 mile warranty and free services for 5 years... pretty good deal I said and my friend bought it... Think it all came to just over 30K... He got over KBB for his 03 Dodge truck too...

I have a 68 F-100 short wide with a built 351 Cleveland and a top loader 4 speed. It's been having carburetor and timing problems lately, replaced the Holley with a Demon and swapped the MSD box. Much better, really hauls the mail now. I was out cruising last night with my oldest son JP and we ran into one of his friends from high school. He's done alright for himself, he was driving a pretty nice 05 GTO. Yellow with some aftermarket wheels. Runs his own software company. My son tells me to run him for pinks, I said no way I like my truck. My son insisted that we'd get the GTO. Finally I gave in, hey you only live once right? If the GTO was his free and clear I'd run him. But JP would have to explain to mom why we needed a ride home. We drove to the "alley" behind my shop. Basically it's a gap between the buildings just wide enough for 2 cars to run down. Starting at the far end of my parking lot it's about 2 long blocks of straight stretch. Just takes some balls to run it. Line up, honk 3 times, and go. We got the GTO. Not because my truck is faster (it's not) but because Jason choked. He stalled it out on the line. By the time he got the car restarted it was too late. My boy got a GTO. Now we just have to figure out what we're gonna do with this GM pile o' crap. JP told me Jason can drive a stick ok most of the time, but when he's under pressure he'll choke and stall it every single time. Problem (for him) is he's so cocky he can't say no to a race. Handy info to have. So what should we do with this GM car? I'm all for finding some creative way to send it to hell. Late model demolition derby maybe. Or put a ridiculous shot of N2O on it and blow the motor. Theres a couple of dirt roads that are pretty bad, we could do a little rally cup driving with it. Or maybe just load it in the car crusher, it'll just make the other ones that much more valuable. Or maybe just sink it in the tank out back, it'll be good structure for the bass and crappie. In case you can't tell we're not fans of anything other that the blue oval.
Sell it back to the kid you beat, then run him again!!!!!!
yea due to lack of sales they were a little overpriced
Wrong answer... The Global Platform has been canceled.. not just the GTO. The Monaro, Caprice SS and others will not be sold in its current form anywhere.
It was always scheduled to be an 04,05,06 Run. for the GTO

BEcause they couldn't get it approved for safety and emissions in time to be an 03. Then the platform has been discontinued, but Pontiac has plans to build in on their next RWD Platform. Probably the one the Camaro will be built on.
I knwo that a lot of articles have said that GTO sales were not very high, but at best the planned to only ship in 18,000 units per year. I mean think abotu that ocmpared to the mustangs planned run of near 150,000 vehicles. GM planned it as a niche vehicle and it sold as such. I think the LS1 04 wasn't so great because of dealers wanting over MSRP and people knowing the LS2 was coming.
