I have a 68 F-100 short wide with a built 351 Cleveland and a top loader 4 speed. It's been having carburetor and timing problems lately, replaced the Holley with a Demon and swapped the MSD box. Much better, really hauls the mail now. I was out cruising last night with my oldest son JP and we ran into one of his friends from high school. He's done alright for himself, he was driving a pretty nice 05 GTO. Yellow with some aftermarket wheels. Runs his own software company. My son tells me to run him for pinks, I said no way I like my truck. My son insisted that we'd get the GTO. Finally I gave in, hey you only live once right? If the GTO was his free and clear I'd run him. But JP would have to explain to mom why we needed a ride home. We drove to the "alley" behind my shop. Basically it's a gap between the buildings just wide enough for 2 cars to run down. Starting at the far end of my parking lot it's about 2 long blocks of straight stretch. Just takes some balls to run it. Line up, honk 3 times, and go. We got the GTO. Not because my truck is faster (it's not) but because Jason choked. He stalled it out on the line. By the time he got the car restarted it was too late. My boy got a GTO. Now we just have to figure out what we're gonna do with this GM pile o' crap. JP told me Jason can drive a stick ok most of the time, but when he's under pressure he'll choke and stall it every single time. Problem (for him) is he's so cocky he can't say no to a race. Handy info to have. So what should we do with this GM car? I'm all for finding some creative way to send it to hell. Late model demolition derby maybe. Or put a ridiculous shot of N2O on it and blow the motor. Theres a couple of dirt roads that are pretty bad, we could do a little rally cup driving with it. Or maybe just load it in the car crusher, it'll just make the other ones that much more valuable. Or maybe just sink it in the tank out back, it'll be good structure for the bass and crappie. In case you can't tell we're not fans of anything other that the blue oval.
Why not sell it for cash and go buy a 05-06 Mustang GT for your son?

That 366ci LS2 will scream. A 150 shot and beat it to death. I bet it'd run 11s easy (throw some slicks on it ) They take pretty well to NOS so it might be hard to kill that way. I'd take about a day or two to beat the $h!t out of it (clutch nice and fried, rings toasted, ect) and give it back, ya know bein nice an all

BlueStreak03, if my son wants a Mustang he has the money to go buy one. He's 27 years old. We just want to abuse it in some way. See how much pain this car can take.
AustinCobra, I'm assuming you're in Austin Texas? We're your neighbors in Dallas. We'd be willing to trade it for an interesting Ford truck. We're on the lookout for a unibody. No luck so far. If you have a unibody F-100 in restorable condition and would like an 05 GTO let me know. We will deliver and pick up. Straight trade, title for title.
5.0 in a 66, you're damn right that thing will scream. Spent the morning taking her for a leisurely Saturday drive. That motor will rev, rev, and rev. Car will corner too.
Hell yeah I took his car away. Wouldn't you? A deal is a deal. I won, he lost.
The truck I'm looking for is a 61-63 Ford F-100 Unibody. Short bed, 289 V-8, and 3 on the tree or 4 on the floor. Original and unmolested. No motor swaps or hot rodding. It needs to be clean, straight, and 80% rust free. Been looking for 20 years for the right truck, haven't found it yet. It's pretty much the holy grail of my collection. I had an easier time finding a 1948 F-1 than I have finding a Unibody. Relatively low production numbers (about 200,000 short bed V-8's made in 3 years) and being more prone to rust has dwindled their supply dramatically. If anyone has one I would be more than happy to swap the 05 GTO straight out. If it still has the original bench seat in it that would be a big plus because it will have the build sheet in it.
Hey man, why not just sell the goat and use the money for your new project. Why the need to destroy a $25000 + car? BTW look on ebay for F-100s....http://motors.search.ebay.com/Ford-F...FordQ20FQ2d100 I looked and saw 3 of them unmolested trucks. Good luck!!

wow you have got to be kidding.
your willing to sink a $30,000 car in your pond just becauseits a GM. Someoneis insane.
ill trade you my drivetrain for that drivetrain.....
I don't know either..... I've been a little suspicious of this guy since I read his intro. If he is legit I've got to say he is a wealthy man. But with all the hard working people who drive junk why destroy it and not let a needy person get use from it. Why not drive to the nearest grocery store and find a single mother who can't afford a dependable auto and give it to her. IF and that's a BIG IF he is legit he is a very selfish person for even thinking the way he does. BUT you know what they say.... I'LL Believe IT WHEN I SEE IT WITH MY OWN EYES!!!
