Default I got smoked, oh lordy!

On my way home from a San Diego Mustang club picnic today, cruising about 78 or so when another GT(05/06) passes me while I was enjoying the scenery, I pull up on him and we both look over at each other and smile. He puts his foot in it and so do I as we get to about 90 or so this 'Vette pulls up, honks and the next thing I see or hear is his pipes, well at least it was a Z06(not that I would stand a chance)

New C6 Z06? i have a friend who has a C5 Z06 and races it at the technical track locally and he drove one of the C6 Z06's and said "it makes my car feel like a tricyle". I guess he just put the for sale sign on his C5

Now Doc - is that a proper way for a new member to represent the club? Beat by a plastic car? Time to start investing in those mods

Had a similar experience the other day against a C5 ZO6, I was enticing him a bit and then I just passed him. So I'm cruising at about 120kph (75mph) and I see him flying up behind me so I put it in 3rd and drop the hammer. Needless to say he rips it by me and keeps on going. I'd like to think I kept up pretty well but those things are quick. Afterwards I pull up beside him and give him the thumbs up and he does the motion with his hand like 'not bad, not bad' ie moves hand from side to side. lol Bast*ard

God I wish I could get a SHELBY 500 for such situations.

I'd still put alot of money on a C6 Z06 vs. a GT500...

Even though the Shelby has 500 horses, its about 3900 lbs for the coupe and more for the convertable. The Z06 is an amazing car, its only 3150! My C5 had about 500 to the wheels, and Yeah, i was one of those guys that would blow by mustangs all the the time. The car was light and fast but i always had some kind of drivavility problems and one day i just got rid of it just before the C6's came out so i can get some cash for it. I was itching for a C6, but i didnt want, to drop that kind of cash and thats why i got the stang, plus its way more comfortable and practical as an everyday car. I have about 35K in my stang and it gets more looks than my c5 did or my c4( ihad 20grand in my c5). I think the stang crowd is more blue collar and younger than the vette guys so i think i fit it pretty good

Even many modded cars would have a problem with a new C6Z06 from a roll. They're are monsters. At least one person (Ranger) has hit 11.3@127 bone stock. I beat one in the 1/8th the other day at Qualcomm.........of course it helped that he missed third

If I had one, I'd get the tri-bar pony for the side and back. Lose all the GT500 stuff and hide one of the tailpipes

Let the C6-Z06 guy think he lost to a V6 Mustang.

Take his lunch money and make him go home and cry.

Shelby would definately get more attention, and Id still feel better. So what they are faster, corvette just means you have too much money and most people who drive them are @$$hole politicians or something, but not all of them,I guess, just being open minded because everyone I know with a corvette is a b@stard pos. One kid around here still lives with his mom and has a brand new C5 she bought him and hes like 25 years old .
