I hear ya man, i just thought it was a cool car, but i would never buy one. If i had my collection of cars it would be 60-70 muscle cars from Mopar, Ford, Chevy, Olds, Buick...etc... Maybe a Javalin in there someware. I would also like a 30s ford 5 window, 55 chevy belair... there are so many. you just can beat american classics.
I would probably have to add in a few even older (or more rare) cars to that collection. Maybe an Edsel, a Tucker, an Auburn and a Kaiser.
The Lotus would definitely be a cool toy. It's the sort of thing I wish I could rent for the day for a quick run on some mountain roads.
ahh c'mon I saw that episode and I don't think the Mustang lost THAT badly, if you know what the Elise is all about then losing by a few seconds to it on the Top Gear track isn't all that bad.
Besides, the Mustang is on the farrrrr right side of the Cool Wall, bordering super cool I believe

Apparently, Lotus has decided to release a few of their cars (both the Elise and the Exige) with special performance packages to make them handle better, etc. - as if the base models were 'sloppy'.
