This post is meant to raise awareness about racing on the freeway.
A few years ago my aunt and uncle were driving with my cousins up north. it was about 3 AM and the only person up was my uncle, who was driving. All of a sudden a ricer, doing about 120, cut all the way across the freeway and flipped over, right in front of my uncle's minivan. My uncle pulled over, against the median to see if the other car needed help. He handed my aunt his cell phone to call 9-1-1 and got out. Before he was able to take two steps the other car side-swipped the minivan, pinning my uncle against the concrete median and the van, killing him almost instantly. This post is not meant to try and tell people to not race. It is meant to tell people that if the see other cars they should slow down. Think about whos lives you are putting at risk.

people think they are being safe when they only drive like an ass when alone in the car. its a privelage to drive on the free roads of our country, not a right.
im a hypocrit sometimes, but i always regret driving like a jerk afterwards, thinking about who i could have hurt.
be safe guys, nobody wants to see anybody hurt.

im exactly the same waybut i have gotten a lot better about it. it used to be that whenevr i drove my step-dads mustang id race anyone that wanted too. now ill race maybe once. very rarely will i race twice in one night.

Sorry to hear that. I'd prolly never race except on a track, and I don't mean to be disrespectful, but why would you pull to the median on a freeway and not the shoulder? I would think it's very dangerous to pull there seeing as the median is next to the fast lane, plus there is normally more room on the shoulder...
...unless of course this is one of those highways where there is no room on either side, which of course I wouldnt have stopped until it was safe. But again...sorry to hear about that. Very tragic.

very sorry about your uncle but what does that story have to do with racing? were you in the car with your uncle? how do you know the ricer was doin 120? what makes you think the second car was racing the first when the second car arrived after your uncle had time to pull over,stop,get out,hand the phone to your aunt,and tell her to dial 911? this doesnt really raise awareness about racing on a freeway so much as it raises awareness that anything can happen drivin on a freeway...i've seen so many accidents on a freeway ...this one sounds more like the first guy was drunk...and again i am sorry about your uncle and pay him all respect but unless youre a doctor dont stop and get out on a freeway people...you can dial 911 from your movin car...i've done it many times

ok it has to do with racing because they guy that killed my uncle was racing the guy that flipped over. iu wasnt in the car (thank god) and about the speed, im just going by what the cops told my family. and i know they were racing because thats what the guy that flipped over told the cops.and i have no idea why he pulled to th median.

I once saw a video on a website of a Rally car racing on some dirt road, it flipped. Everyone immediately ran out to help the person out of the car. Seconds later, another car came flipping by, clipped some samaritan in the head, and killed him instantly. The video's name was: "Why you don't help people". This post reminded me of that.
In retrospect, I'm sorry to hear that years ago, your Uncle was doing the right thing by helping out another human being only to be killed by some idiot racer.
I think we all can reflect upon this and admit that mistakes were made on all persons part.
Know what you have under you hood, know when to race, and when to take it slow.
its true what they say about bad things happening to good people.....sorry for ur uncle. if he was beating the guy by that much why did he keep on driving.........people are stupid when they race sometimes. 120!! sounds like he should have shut down way b4 he got to there with that kind of lead........again sorry and my condolensces
