2007 stock Mustang GT vs stock 2007 Cadillac STS-V
My father is up visiting from Florida, and really likes the look of my Mustang, so I tossed him the keys and we went for a spin around town.
We come up to a big hill south of town, where there are all these dealerships located. A 2007 Cadillac STS-V pulls up at the long light (Sticker in the lady's window - 14/20 mpg - Yikes!), and we talk for a couple seconds about how he had one of the old STSs, traded it in for a Lucerne, but is not very impressed with that car. Light goes green, and he gets on the throttle, so does the STS, he gets on it a little more, again matched by the STS, etc....
So finally its WOT to the top of this 1/2 mile-long, near 45 degree hill neck in neck with the Caddy, he lets off because of a light coming up, and the woman driving the STS pulls in to the Cadillac dealership. From the dealer plate on the trunk you can see she's just been out for a test drive (obviously without the sales guy)!
Dad thought the GT was going to take the CTS-V easily, but I showed him online that both cars have same 0-60 speed, even though the STS-V has 469 hp and costs $50,000 more. He really liked the ride/acceleration and talked about trading in his POS Lucerne when he gets back to FLA.

i think anytime you race a chick and its even...her car won. especially if you had to go wot cause bet ya bottom dollar she really isnt. so you have to give her car the "hold back" factor. even the wild gals i've met cant push it all the way
Nah, I'd still call it even....cause you also have the first-time driver of a new Mustang (my father)...who doesn't want to wreck his son's cherished ride...so there is some hold back factor there too...as far as WOT, I had to take his word for if he "really" floored it or not...

All in all, your car will not match a STS-V, stock v stock. Guy at the local track had one, the 405 hp version and was running quicker than any stock mustang (non 03/04 Cobra) there that I saw. Granted, just one car but the cars can run up to 109 in the quarter.

There are only three things the copilot should ever say:
1. Nice landing, Sir.
2. I'll buy the first round.
3. I'll take the ugly one.
Everything I've seen online points to the STS-V having a 0-60 around 5 seconds. That is generally true for the 05+ Mustangs.
That lower-end speed measure is what I personally use to compare cars, since I've not been to a drag strip yet and I'll never go faster than 65-70 mph when on a clear street with competition.
Not very exciting, but certainly safer...and so far the competiton has felt the same way (Never got over that mph on clear roads).
Granted, at the end of the 1/4 mile, the STS-V might be blowing out a stock 05+ at high speed.
