There is an even cheaper car than the SRT-4 that still makes noise when you see one. The Eagle Talon of the early 90's with AWD and turbo. There are still guys running them into the 9's and drives them on the street.. plus they are AWD and they are one of those cars that can be a total sleeper. The only thing about those types of cars is they are not that nice looking and very bland... the Mustang has speed and looks...and a complete package with its heritige too..

I almost bought a talon once...but it was really scratched up and the motor didnt sound too good.Ummm sincitystang.....you do know that SRT4s are fwd..not awd.the car on that page is for drag only..you can't drive that think in the street.Bring some AWDs and ask them to roll from 2nd against an srt4....they'lll just say no!!(i got it on video...last thursday an evo and an STi chickened out)....Of course i din't hit it from a stop, it had rained and street was a little bit wet, I would've been all over the road, and by the time I hitted 3rd he would've been turning back with a smile on his face.

I know of some really fast AWD talons that are street legal.. 9 second cars locally here. I also know of some fast hondas such as some EG hatches/crx's with turbo B series motors that are in the 10's and drive them on the steet.... its all about power to weight... thats why neons srts are fast too... but there will always be someone faster.

as for the video of the AWD talon, its a 7 second car and yeah its race only but it still on the stock chasis and not a race chasis. I've never seen a Neon in the 7s even in race form...

speaking about talons...this guy yeasterday pulls next to me at a red light and starts reving his engine, i didnt really pay any attention to him because i was smoking a cigarette.Light turn green and he floors hit, he gains 3 car lenghts on me and I decide that its time to kick some butt!!By 3rd gear i was pulling him like crazy.Then I stopped and he gets by my side and yells at me "...dude you are shooting flames.."..I smiled at him and gave him a thumbs up signal and went straight home.Your right sincity there are no 7 sec srt4s...that you know off.But I'm sure that the first years that talons and civics came out they didnt run 7 secs,and of course to achive that goal they have to get a bigger engine, but this topic has been argued many times before, and you are also right about something..there is always someone faster.

I just like the Talon for one reason.. its cheap to buy (at current market) and they are total sleepers.. no one even pays attention to them or even know what they are?? I almost bought one, but i ended up with a civic EG Coupe with B series swap as my daily driver because i got a deal on it.. otherwise i was looking for a clean 91-92 talon TSI

well they are one of the cheapest turbocharged cars running out there today, but i wouldn't buy one unles i got a pretty good deal on it....in that case i would use it to get to work and stuff like that, but yeah lots of people see that eagle on the back and can't figure out what it is, or what TSI stands for.You gotta be pretty retarded not to figure out that it looks just like an eclipse and that TSI has something to do with turbo.Like I said before I almost bought one, it was red 95 i think... in bad condition, bumpers were cracked and paint was scratched up, no shift knob, and when my dad saw the turbo he said"..NO WAY!!!! I was 15 at the time.

I'm not an expert on cars or anything, but I think all that needs to be said in this thread is if you stick a 10~20k turbo setup with all the trimmings on about any car your going have a f*****g rocket. Less weight does help alot, but still you cant compare cars with 11 psi blowers with TT setups running 22 PSI. Losing doesn't say much of anything about the car, just the setup.

One of my buddies has a Buscher built DSM. It's fast, but I haven't seen him rip out any 9's just high 10's on it on street tires.

The gt500 owner would have owned the neon but he slowed down so nothing happened to his car , I would do the same thing if I owned a new gt500

didnt read all of this, BUT as the owner of a 03' specv and in a family of 3classic stangs and an 06...

I turbo charged my spec, at 5psi i was walking STOCK 06 GT's. Thats from a roll and in the 1/4. Now I am dropping a fully built QR25 into the spec. It made 668hp to the crank. due to my fuel setup ill be limited to 525whp in the car. Far within the limits I dont fear any POPs. Now take that setup and that car and compare.... (i didnt pay close to those prices these are retails)

03' SpecV $17500 sticker, custom FI-R turbo kit($6200), FI-R engine build($5000)
totals $29000+$1500electronics= $30500

06 GT $29000sticker.... Just a comparison. The GT is a far nicer car though.

Now I am building the spec to make interstate runs with a C6 Z06. I should be close from the 60-160mph roll(dont wry its a closed course)

Considering that the C6Z06 will completely destroy a stock GT500 and Viper, I say this hating Chevy, its just facts. So, I do know, according to gearing, hp diff and weight, I will be able to kill a Gt500 and viper, just not sure about the Z06, hence thats why its my goal.

but to even get close to a car that can keep up, its makes a HUGE price void!

GT500- ive heard 45-60grand
Viper- 85grand
C6Z06- 60-70 ive heard

Correct my prices if you know what they really are, but still its not close. Ive seen several srt4s running mid 11's with over 50k miles and still being driven daily, not to mention 26-30mpg! I am very much a stag fan, but i also have the highest respect for a 4banger with slanted eye technology and a computer.

No... they run like low 14's high 13s stock.... I ran a 17.5 psi stage2 srt4 while i was at 5psi and we were dead even. Now, i know how fast a 17.5psi srt4 is... id say that srt4 had ALOT of work to be taking a GT500 at 22psi, OR he was running a small shot of juice. 25-50, no more than that.

thank you! And I thought you SRT-4's ran about $19K, and weren't most people running very high 13's stock? Now put that $6K difference in price between that and a GT, into the SRT-4 and you've got one fast little car.
There are plenty of quick SRT's over at the srtforums.
