I raced a guy tonight, Just wanted to share the story with you all.
He had a very nice 02(or so) Zo6, he pulled up to me and reved his engine, I did nothing at first, because I have beat many of them already.
He reved again and this time did a little gettin on it. And also grins real big. I yell out the window "nice car man" He says and I quote
"I know" then he says "You wanna try me?"
I decide to go ahead and give him what he ask for.
Long story short, I killed him from a 1st gear punch all the way till we hit traffic (racing in traffic is wrong I know), about the middle of my 3rd gear. I had about 5 cars on his lightweight 400 horsepower ass.
He pulls up to me again and says, and I quote "You mustangs have to use nitrous to win, IT'S SAD"
Then before I could say anything, he rolled up his window and turned into a parking lot.
I didnt know if I should be insulted or laugh about it, I chose to laugh it off. Because I do not have NOS at all. But I think he could have used some in this race!!

How do you know it was a C5Z? A well driven C5Z vs pullied Cobra is a drivers race. All you have to do is look at the ET's posted, video's posted and go to the track. I had a pullied 03 Cobra and a stock C5Z at the local track would run slightly faster times.

I know it was a C5 ZO6, because I know my cars.
I dont know the rear wheel horsepower of a stock zo6, but mine has 457 rwhp, and I Know I pulled on him all through the race. Guessing 5 cars or so. Then he wouldnt talk to me, he just left.

That doesn't tell us that it was a C5Z06. How did you know it was a C5Z? A real easy question. Your car does't have enough power to pull 5 lengths on a C5Z if the guy knows how to race. Sounds like a regular C5 to me. In your sig, you state you haven't gone to the track to get ET's because you haven't figured how to drive it but you can put 5 cars on a C5Z? If you beat a Z, it was driver, not the car. Good for your 457rwhp but we don't race dyno's.

I think a well driven pullied Cobra could take one but not put five cars on one, unless the other guy has decided not to race, like in traffic. If one is going to make a story, at least know the enemy and make it believable. He missed a shift, or we ran through the gears with the Z right on my ass, etc.

My sig. is old, I only had the car 3 weeks or so, then, I was still learning. Now Im confortable with it. I will have to change my sig now. Thanks for reminding me.
Oh yeah, I can drive it just fine now. I will have ETs soon enough.

Maybe you just lack skills? Maybe I use my 457 RWHP and 470 RWTQ better than you did? But dont feel bad, Not everybody is a good driver, ther is still time for you, Keep practicing
Your pullied cobra should have been a high 11 sec car, which should have smoked a stock c5 zo6 by at lest a half second, which should be at least 5-6 cars in the quarter. Dont cry though Im sure I could have gotten your Terminator to beat a Vette.

The only trouble I have with any vette so far is off the line (especially autos) they jump off alot better than me, but I always catch them. PS ... I can tell you are a corvette fan, me too, but sometimes there are faster cars for less money, like mine.

Sorry "LITTLE" brother, as a Mustang owner myself......the ONLY way Ford EVER beat GM is with BOOST and AFTER the Z car was DEAD....READ.....not MADE anymore.

Man Chevy is so out dated, They are still using push rod. Who the hell does that? NO ONE, but GM! Man Fords puts a 281ci engine in there cars a get 300hp, GM was only getting 300 hp with there 40 year old 350. SAD. They got rid of the Camero b/c well it looked to European. Ya the LS1 is fast but its still old tech. Every other car company out there try to appeal to the new generation, but not GM, they just keep making for 3 and 4 generations ago, maybe thats why they are going under. O and Ford has to be blown did you not just see what you wrote z28 blown. And GM coping Ford trying to get Saleen in to it now, well the Camero has been a flop and always will be.
