Default First Time Dragracing

So I called in sick today which is normally a big no no on the weekends, but I did. I make the 45 minute trip to the track which isn't to bad, but I'm not used to driving in the metroplex and gas mileage isn't the best. Anyways, I follow a buddy all the way there. We get to the gates and they are closed (we were about 5 minutes early). Some guy in a Kia Spectra pulls up and tells me the track is closed. I was super bummed. I've been nervous all week and today was crazy. So we go to a nearby parking lot and stop to talk for a minute. We see a 6.0 liter GTO fly-by followed by a 5.7 with the blower screaming. We go back to find out why the track was closed and they said it was because there was too much moisture on the track. It was supposed to rain all day...didn't rain a drop. They ended up giving us a pass to get in free next weekend, but I'm not sure I can get off work. As we're leaving we see the GTO's so I roll down my window to hear them. The 6.0 liter goes by and sounds awesome. Then the supercharged 5.7 goes by and my ears are literally still ringing it was so loud. I think braupe can attest to that. Anyways, it wasn't really a kill story but it killed my mood and my day and maybe the best chance I'll have to drag this season...BUMMER!
