Ok I'm not sure if this a kill or if I just got a jump on this guy.
Anyway last night I was coming home from work, I was sitting a light waiting to turn left to get on the highway. There is two left turn lanes and one right turn lane. So I sitting there all by myself when in a distance I see headlights coming up beside me in the right lane and then all the sudden they jump over two lanes to get next to me. Just as they get next to me the light turns green and I realize it is GT500. We both make the left turn and nothing but straight road ahead of us.
Just as I am getting next to his rear tire he drops the hammer. So I follow suit, as I am going into third I start pulling, at the top of third I have a nose on him when I go into fourth I have got about two cars on him and I can't pull away any more but he does not close either. I had to shut down because I had a car coming up. I slowed to about 60 and he just stays in it and flys past me. I got back behind him and tried to get him to pull over but he did not.
Now my question is this a kill or did he just miss a shift? I just find it hard to believe that I pulled like that on a GT500. This is the first time I have one seen run in person, but it sounded like it had a catback on it. Very nice sounding car. Either way I have a whole new found respect for my car.
Why would you be shocked, you car makes close to 500 rwhp ormore with mods, his makes 500 rwhp. His car weighs a ton more. I definetly belive you could run or beat a new one.
he's your kill..he started it...he just couldnt finish it...damn fine kill and i'm certain he'll be awake a few nights on it...but like previously said..your car is no slouch either so it shouldnt be a big surprise that one modded cobra beats another stock one
Thanks for the positive replys. My car does not weigh a whole less though. I had it dynoed in May it weighed 3850 with driver. I used a Mustang Dyno and put down 425rwhp and 456rwtq. The tuner told me that on a Dynojet my numbers would have been quite a bit higher. Enough about that I was just so excited I thought my head was going to explode. I wish the guy would have pulled over though I just wanted to get a better look at the Shelby. Oh well I am sure we will find each other again. This time I will have another surprise for him.
I believe you would rip him a new one on the track. You have a KB on your cobra running 18psi? You should be running like low 11's. Versus the stock gt500 runnin mid to upper 12's. So very nice kill.

Put it this way. he's got a basically stock car, and you have a car that has been modified. for some reason, cars that are stock are slower than modified cars 9 times out of ten, when compared to a car that makes similar power and weight. wierd. I think it has to do with the way the computer works, the tuning and such, coupled with high flow parts.
