i was sitting at this stop light with my car about a month ago and im sitting there messing around and i start revving my engine and after a few seconds i stop and this older firebird im guessing late 1970-early 1980 pulls up next to me and revvs his v8 and i just o great f**k this is not good and so he rolls his window down and starts yelling at me i roll my passenger window down and he says "wanna race" i was just like aw f**k "sure" i said so i brought my engine up to about 4k in revvs i wait for the light and i start hearing pinging noises from my engine (about 2,500 miles earlier i rebuild the top end of the engine) so im going plz baby dont die on me now the lights turns green and i pop the clutch and i hear my tires just squealing and then its starts backfiring and i hear a loud grinding noise and the engine dies the firebird justs roasts his tires and is bearly moving then his tires hook up and boom hes flying on down the road i pull my car out of gear push the clutch in and started it back it started up the first time so was like woot woot i put it in first and let the clutch out slowly it wouldnt move so i dump the clutch and still dint do anything and i see this car come over the hill to the right of me and im sitting in the middle of the intersection i jump out of my car and started pushing it by the door i get moving at a jogging pace hop back in my car and put it in first still wont move i put it in second and it bearly caught and i just dumped it i took off and that car that came over the hill was a cop he fliped on his lights and i just took off like a bat outta hell i lost him in about 20 seconds i park my car on the side of the street and just as i get out of the car and lock it the same cop that tryed to pull me over pulls up

that pinging sound coming from your motor and you were still gonna race? when you dumped your clutch, you made what ever was wrong even worse. I would have backed off the throttle and pulled into a parking lot and turn off the motor to inspect it.
this happened a month ago, so, what happened to your car since then?

welp lmao that pinging ive had in it since then and i just took the head off cause it was pissing me off every time i revv it or just pull out of my drive way i always hear the pinging. so i take the head off only to find out that it was a stuck valve wide open ,and the valve was bent like a son of gun, it was bad im gonna have to replace my piston also im thinking of some 10.1 comp pistons or just a 520 cid ford turn key motor for 6.5k. o and my clutch it blew perfectly in half after i got back from the station (they couldnt press charges of street racing cause i was already out of my car) i got my car home with a 1974 f250 with a reinforced 390 cid pumping about 400 ponys i almost ripped my front bumper off lol. so i pull the dust cover off the tranny and little peices of clutch material fall into my face,so i pull the tranny and pull the clutch and the clutch is done so i buy a $600 racing twin plate clutch and stupid me i put the first plate in backwards and about after 10min of drivin i lost the clutch again...

yeah i blew a brand new clutch....
its sitting at my grandfathers house right now im waiting to get enough money to get 520 cid crate motor thats gonna cost me an arm and a leg ($6,500) its hopefully gonna have 30 inch mickeythompson slicks out back soon also
