Thought you guys might like a story of 2 arch-rivals going down:
This morning it finally happened. I got to line up a couple times against a 6.0 6spd. Beautiful blue color, too.
We went for it twice, both times the same result from the light - I pulled about 1-1.5 CLs. He tipped his hat to me, literally. At another light he confirmed it was a 6spd and asked what I did to mine (CAI) and that mine was "better". I was replying it was just faster when the light turned green we went our separate ways.
To prevent hard feelings, please know on the same trip before I dropped of my passenger, a WS6 'Vert 6spd was beaten by 2-3 CLs by me after he did a few ricer fly-bys. Finally we lined up against a light (actually he wouldn't pull next to me), I showed him my hazards when I had to turn and he did another flyby...
Turns out I had run him down before from 2 CLs back a while ago.....
I think the srt-8's extra horsepower makes up for the slight curb weight difference in the cars. Plus I hear the automatic is pretty responsive and accurate. I don't mean this as an attack on your car, because I can respect a fast car, but I'd still take the GTO if given the chance. It's just a cooler looking car.
Plus that ls2 is just a monster waiting to become a bigger monster.

For the looks. It and my sn95 share a lot of styling characteristics, I like the 97-03 Grand Prix GTPs too.

If modding is a priority, the GTO is the way to go over the Charger.
BTW, I've been meaning to ask a Charger driver how their cars pull from a 30 roll? My brother was able to edge out an SRT-8 from a 30 roll with the TA in my sig. I figured the Charger must've hit a dead spot at the bottom second because the TA was in first, and the TA pulls like a dog at 30 in second.
Edit: Wow, that wasn't very coherent at all. The reason I'm asking is cause my brother beat the charger but I was almost sure he'd lose.

True. The bottom of 2nd and 3rd are dead spots. 30mph or so sounds right if it doesn't downshift. 70mph in 3rd is lousy too. It's a momentum car or it has to downshift. The Autostick works great for circumstances like that.
