Default Wasted a WS6 tonight

driving the ol' cobra back from dinner tonight..first time i've driven it in about 3 weeks since i got my port job on my blower and since the weather has sucked. coming off the interstate onto my exit and saw a white ws6 ahead. there is a traffic light at the exit, i pull next to him..guy in his 40s, gives me a dirty look. light turns green, we make the left turn and its on from about 20 mph. i had him by atleast 4 or 5 cars by the time i hit 80 or 85 mph after i miss 4th gear (driving like a granny..not shifting over 5000 just to play with him). i slow down and it takes him a few seconds to FLY by me and whip around and cut me off and about wreck me. i pull up beside him and asks what i have done i told him a ported blower and he said he was stock...at least he told me i had a nice car, as he drives slow anticipating another race, so i drop down into 3rd and leave him again. cant wait to get my pulleys. (sorry long story)

That stage IV port is a nice little awakening, is it not? I had one on my old 03 Cobra but only had the upper pulley. It must make some crazy torque with the lower.

Edit, just saw your port/pulley job is in progress. Just wait, you won't be dissapointed. I gained 40rwhp at the peak with my port job, on a mild 91 octane tune. The new owner gained another 20, for 500rwhp with a more aggressive 93 octane tune.

yeah i cant wait for the pulleys. My tuner just moved up from FL, he was a super tuner at superchips so he does good. He said it should be no problem at all making 500 at the wheels. How does a 500rwhp (or close to it) cobra compare with your 400rwhp vette since you've had both?

A stock C6 (a mn6 or A6) and stock 03/04 Cobra I think are very, very close in performance. Given equal drivers, same day, same track, the C6 will probably come out slightly ahead. There are now a couple of folks to have run 12.2's@115.XX in bone stock C6's in the 1/4 mile. These were done at good tracks in great weather.

Now that I've some mods (headers, cat-back, rockers, tune) for 397rwhp/387rwtq SAE, it's about the equal to my 03 Cobra when it had a 2.9 pulley, making 440rwhp; the whole weight advantage thing. I've compared timeslips and my C6 is slightly faster but I have more seat time in it. Never ran my Cobra with the port job at the track but after some seat time and high speed runs, a C6 is going to need at least a medium to large cam on top of my mods to keep up. The Steig port job was almost like putting a new blower on the car, it was simply a different beast. Much more effecient. The only mod better would have been a twin-screw blower. You will like it, I gaurantee it.
