Yea, the Cobalt SS is no slouch for its class, but its still an econo bucket. Its not quite an SRT-4, but pretty close. Sure kicks the crap out of a Civic SI.

I think you passed an SS non supercharged cobalt. Chevy makes 2 SS cobalts, one is supercharged, one isn't. You must have passed the non supercharged one. I have a supercharged Cobalt with a stage 2 kit, its just a tune on bigger injectors and a smaller pulley on the supercharger. I can get from 0 to 60 in 5.3 seconds and hit the quarter in 13.8. Now according to Car and Driver Magazine, the 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 can get from 0 to 60 in 5.4 seconds and hit the quarter in 13.8. So the Cobalt with the supercharger and the stage 2 is not far off that old 454 performance. And the stage 2 kit is under $1000 installed and doesn't affect your warranty. The times have have changed.

Either or be fine as I'd beat you with about a second 0-60, more with the slicks... and from a rolling 60-100 probably with another second... I have not checked the 1/4 these days but it should be 3+ seconds faster than yours.... so supercharger or not... bring it!
