Glen, what are you planning to hook that little V6 of yours on to Tony's JustanLX beast? I'm sure he would still beat me to the finish line with yours in tow!

Hehehe! Thats ok tony! He's just kidding! I get this kind of grief all the time. When most people think of the V6 Mustang, they are remembering the pre-99 models with a whole 150 hp. The new V6's are whole nother story. This is the reason I bought the car, I love having something fast that surprises people. In the old days we use to call this a sleeper. I have pulled many V8 5 speed hatch backs, I think I can handle a V8 Auto (|I ), convertable (the weight alone on a vert will kill it, let alone a rubber band for a tranny|I ).

Whats that saying, "those who talk the most, usually fall the fastest"?

I can't wait, no excuses now:smokin: !

Question

I'm going to buy a 351c w. 550hp and around 550 ft lb of torque.

Anyone know what this might do on the 1/4 just by dropping it in my 69 Mustang?

The 351c will cost me $2800,shipping is free.

Thanks

... So ignore them then, I hate when people think their opinion is all supreme and feel to voice them selves all the time even when it is no big deal, we all have our little pet peeves

there is a good chance that it has that much horse power Net or something, there are many ways to measure horse power and the results very

Settle down man, like Synthetic said, there are many ways of measuring the power, Ford advertises 385 HP or so with their 351W but it doesn't come with a carb or headers and a few other parts, it depends what you add. And just cause you havn't seen a 550 HP 351C crate engine for 2800, that doesn't mean its not out there.

Speaking of the '00 V-6 Mustang, I read somewhere they got it to run a 14.xx in the 1/4 mile. They also stated it was a lot more difficult to get the first 4.6's to run a 14 than the V-6. This didn't sink in until I ran my stock '88 LX AOD w/2.73 gears on my G-Tech the other day and after many tries, the best was a 15.10 will most passes in the mid 15 second range. I also test drove a 94 GT converitble that, I swear, felt even slower. Maybe there's something to these alternative powerplants after all. I might be wrong but I think my DSM will run with my Mustang also but I haven't had the chance to try it on the G-Tech as it's always broken. (The car I mean)

mshay79, ForgottenDreams has not claimed to be a big time racer, and actually has asked for help many times on this board. I have seen 351's in the $2800 price range as well, but I couldn't tell you what the horsepower was, or if it was a long block or a short block. Either way, I don't think he was just trying to be factual, I just think he was trying to add to the thread. We try to keep things casual here, so I give him benefit of the doubt.

But you are right, there are those people around as you described!! But I don't think ForgottenDreams is one of them.

Smokin!

Thanks for the support on the V6 debate!! Hahaha! I get so much crap about my car! I haven't had the best of luck with the G-tech. I would be curious to see how your car does on the track vs. what your G-tech says. Keep us posted!

I've never said I was a "big time street racer"

And where do you get that the engine is
a "crate motor" ?

Ever think that maybe I'm having someone build
it for me,eh?

Which is exactly what I'm doing,is having someone
(a friend) build the engine for me.

As for everyone else, thanks for the support.

I appreciate you looking for that article for me
man! Thanks!
