2016 Ford Mustang GT Fastback Automatic
Performance: The standard 3.15 limited slip differential provides 0-60 in 4.7 seconds and a quarter mile in 12.9 seconds at 111.5 mph.
    MPG: 16 city / 25 highway .
Engine: 5.0L, 302 cu in Coyote V-8, 435 HP @ 6500 rpm & 400 lb-ft torque @ 4250 rpm with 93 octane fuel (424 HP & 387 lb-ft with regular 87 octane), 91 octane recommended. 11:1 compression, 7,000 rpm red line, 430 lb engine weight, 3.63 x 3.65 in. bore and stroke, aluminum block with iron cylinder sleeves, high-flow aluminum heads, DOHC 4V Twin Independent Variable Cam Timing (Ti-VCT), electronic powertrain control module (PCM) with Copperhead software to control the engine and transmission, four chain-driven hollow overhead cams, roller rocker arms, non-interference 32-valves, larger intake and exhaust valves opened by new intake and exhaust camshafts with increased lift, sequential multi-port electronic fuel injection, distributorless coil-on-plug (COP) ignition, charge motion control valves (CMCV), plastic intake manifold, composite valve covers, oil cooler, deceleration fuel shutoff, Tri-Y stainless steel tubular headers, an 8 quart oil pan with windage tray, Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor (IOLM) uses an algorithm to calculate oil change intervals based on actual engine operating conditions and provides alerts when fuel filters need maintenance or fuel pressure is low. 5W-20 oil, Motorcraft FL-500S filter, 10,000 mile changes. The engine makes 1.4 hp per cubic inch, 1.0 hp per pound, and 87 hp per liter.
Transmission: The 6-Speed SelectShift® 6R80E Automatic ($1,195) is manufactured at the Livonia, MI transmission plant by UAW Local 182. The transmission weighs 215 lbs, 24 lbs more than the manual transmission, and has a torque capacity of 650 lb-ft, and has its own oil-to-air cooler. The GT automatic uses a redesigned torque converter (Part No. 7902) that is five pounds lighter than the 2014 equivalent, has a torque multiplication factor of 1.5, and a 2400 – 2700 rpm stall speed. The transmission is electronically controlled with torque converter lockup capability in all six gears. The transmission is “Filled for Life” with 12.1 quarts of low viscosity synthetic Mercon LV fluid. This transmission dip stick is located underneath the car on the transmission itself on the passenger side. The 6R80’s gear ratios, span and shift schedule have been optimized for better off-the-line performance and improved fuel economy.
