Got my first Stang in 1989, a white GT 5.0, at the time of a drag race and Speed shop explosion in the Tampa, Clearwater FLA area, became great friends with many cool peeps and started competing in the Fun Ford Weekend 5.0 shootouts, the above mentioned car was one of the first registered in the Street Stock Class.
For 16 years she was asked to do A Lot like rip up the pavement til the wee hours street racing the New Hot Shots in town and launching out of the whole with slicks and nitrous and the dragstrip, those were the days!! I finally let it go a couple years back in a private sale and it's still alive to this day with over 200K.
My latest ride is a 99 SVT Cobra bought at an estate sale from the son of the original owner. The condition is to this day wonderful, so many people can't believe the paint quality. Lots of people knock this car cause it was the first year production run with many Factory mishaps, but once all buttoned up (like the high speed driveline vibration,wrongly tuned computer flash,underthreading the spark plug housing etc..) this is quite an impressive ride
with subtle power that builds to a frenzy at high RPM. I like the confident feel of the Tri-Ax equipped T-45, it's all I need since it's gonna stay (unless I win the lottery, haha!) normally aspirated.
My next ambition is to get it on a road course, there's a few within reach and it's something I've always wanted to do.
