I knew you could do it, they knew you could do it!

Here are the updates I promised you:

-Solid B's in both my classes (not A's, but waaaay better than they had been earlier in the semester)
-Not a single absence or tardy since feeling the wrath from my parents
-Met with the vice principal: there currently isn't a system in place at my school regarding a maximum set number of allowable absences before being barred from graduating
-Completed all my senior project requirements (failure results in a GED instead of a high school diploma; can't walk at graduation)
-Passed my senior boards (judged presentation of the senior project; same consequences)
-Have been already been accepted into Arizona State University and Washington State University
-Talked my parents into giving my car back last Sunday (well my dad at least...my mom was PIIIIIIISSSSSSSSEEEED!)
-Got a heart-wrenching letter from my grandpa, telling how proud he is of me, how I am his favorite grandson, and what to be prepared for while living on my own
-100% going to graduate (never a doubt in my mind!)

They're all B's right now. Still no car

Can we get a grade update? So we know if we have to ban you until you graduate.........

Oh man... I am now officially going through full-fledged Mustang withdrawals!



I don't think this forum is helping at all...either. In factor, I think it's what's precipitating the withdrawals....

Oh ok. NOW I understand the sled comment. At first I was somewhat freaked out since my dad IS building a big wooden sled in our garage. I was trying to figure out how in the world you knew that.

The schools HAVE all changed quite a bit, at least judging from the stories my parents have told me, and I AM always in trouble because of all these silly little systems our school has put in place. This town is also home to Washington State University, so most of the parents are either professors or are otherwise affiliated with the university. I feel it has influenced all the schools here; the education is very rigorous and very demanding.

Thanks for the support and the complements! I'll try to keep all of "y'all" updated, but so far so good. Two days in, and made it to all my classes on time today.

Let me say that you have some classes there! My goodness! AP classes! Wow, impressive - but only if you graduate. I can't believe how things have changed, the teacher emailing parents, family access - I'll tell ya, I would have been in trouble constantly... but you didn't hear that from me...

You've got a lot on your plate - some would say a bit much with working all those hours and the AP courses but clearly, everyone feels you are able to do this - and frankly, I believe it. Just from reading your posts you're bright and on the right track... Make us all proud and keep us updated!!
