    Mustang Rides
1968 Mustang GT/CS California Special. There were only 4118 manufactured at the San Jose plant. They have been called a "poor man's Shelby" in the past.

This GT/CS was purchased new by my wife and I from Bob Wondries Ford in Alhambra, California. It is a 302 c.i. 4V, C4 transmission, console, A/C, P/B, P/S, black vinyl top. We have the original paper work and other receipts showing what was done to the car over the years. In 1988 this GT/CS was replaced with another car and it was subsequently then garaged. In 1989 this GT/CS was given a complete make-over; new vinyl top, paint, complete interior, new weather stripping, front and rear glassalong with new suspension. It was then kept in the garage and not driven. When my son's got interested in cars we decided to have some fun and show it. After being garaged for almost 4 years and just started every now and then it needed some more attention. A close friend of mine, who is a professional mechanic and Mustang nut, was given the GT/CS to get it road ready. Several weeks later this GT/CS was ready to roll. Photo's were taken and submitted for the first GT/CS calendar which was featured for the month of March 2005. In May 2005 Sacramento Mustang had their annual car show. We decided to show it there. It drew a lot of attention, questions asked and pictures taken. No trophy awarded, but that is ok. Having Mr. GT/CS himself, Paul Newitt cruise by and giving you accolades on your GT/CS trumps any trophy awarded. This GT/CS having seen many miles early on, now only sees the road for car shows or a quick trip to IN n' OUT. Note; Our GT/CS was listed in Paul's first recognition guide .

If this is a poor mans "Shelby" I could still not afford it. Your Mustang must be worth quite a few dollars considering the absolutely incredible condition it is in. Congratulations on owning such a beautiful ride!
