Mustang Rides
Currently own a '65 GT 350 tribute car. This is my 4th Mustang. After having a ’66 coupe, a ’66 fastback and a ’98 coupe, all as daily drivers, I went for about 6 years without a mustang.
While nearing retirement from the Dallas Fire Dept., I started hinting around that maybe I should take some of my retirement money and buy another fastback for a Sunday driver. I guess my wife got tired of hearing me talk about it because she put my sons to work to find me one. For Christmas of 2005, I was surprised with the greatest Christmas gift I could ever wish for.
This car was built in 1991 by Tim Hefley of Tulsa, Oklahoma and has a 289 “K” code engine dyno tested at 323 horsepower with roller rockers, 7 ˝ quart Cobra Oil Pan, tri-y headers, a Borg-Warner 5 speed transmission and a 9” rear end with 3.72 gears.
It has a Shelby suspension with KYB shocks and “Traction Masters” traction bars, four wheel disc brakes, Shelby steering wheel, Shelby hood and fender scoops, Shelby ‘R” model apron and Shelby windows.
Since I’ve had it, it’s gotten new paint by Mastercraft Body Works of Ovilla, Texas and pony interior.
