I wish I had read this before heading up there tonight. Only 4 cars there...I figured it was due to the new construction of the restaurant (?) at the corner.
No reason why UKWildcat. It was just an email from Bass Pro PR saying they no longer could support the cruise ins.

It has to be pressure from the Hampton PD or maybe something stupid finally happened out there one night. It can't be the atmosphere, because if even 10% of the people attracted to the cruise-in wandered into Bass Pro...
What do you guys think?

I agree with you....somebody probably did something and they said we're done. Have you been to the cruise in up in the Newtown part of Williamsburg on Saturday nights?

There are cruise ins at New Town? I did not know that. Do you know where abouts people meet up there? It is kind of a large area. And how long the cruse ins have been going on? I live in Williamsburg and my brother actually has a town home in New Town.

Yeah, it could have definitely been something like that. Or perhaps people/customers could have complained to Bass Pro or even the company that owns the shopping center, even though the atmosphere was pleasant (like VA_Ford mentioned). I don't know. I guess it could be a number of reasons.
I was looking forward to attending one, did a lot of people show up each week?
Of course the cruise in at New Town is more convenient for me, but it still sucks about Bass Pro. I wonder if we will ever find out the actual reason or not?

I think they've only been going on for a couple of weeks and they should be over where the movie theater, Cheeburger Cheeburger, and Maggie Moo's is located.

Gotcha. My brother has lived there for a little while now and I've never noticed what looks like a cruise in, so I figured it had to have started relatively recently. Of course I tend to go to New Town on Friday nights, so that could explain it too.
I know exactly where you are talking about. There is actually a large parking lot to the side of the theater, and even one behind and across from that, so I'm sure its over in that area like you mentioned.
Well, cool! I'm looking forward to attending my first cruise in and meeting some fellow Mustang enthusiasts! Thanks for the info Don!

I haven't been to that one. I guess I'll be looking for something new now. I've heard about the Gloucester stuff on here and about the large gathering at the Harley dealership on Saturday nights. When you get back we'll have to get all the forum/Virginia thread regulars together one night. Too bad you won't make the Mustang club show in Chesapeake this weekend.

I'd estimate 4 complete parking lot rows filled with cars every Saturday. Don't forget there's a Mustang Club of Tidewater show this Saturday at Chesapeake City Park.

Wow! Not bad at all. Sounds like a pretty good turn out.

No problem Jonathan. I agree with VA Ford, we all need to get together in a few weeks...or you guys can meet up before I get back! I know myltlpny would be interested. I wouldn't mind hitting that one in Gloucester too.

Yeah missing all the cruise ins and shows has been rough! It won't be long now though. Good luck this weekend!

I'm gonna try and make it to one of the New Town cruise in's within the next couple of weeks, if at all possible. I am going on a mini-vacation to the Outer Banks, NC the week of Aug. 11th, but I will be back and able to hit up the 23rd cruise in; which hopefully you will be able to make Don.
Did you get word of a time frame for the cruise in at New Town?
How far is New Town from Roanoke? I just got my Mustang and have been starting the Mod process and would love to check out some other member's Stangs in person
New Town is in Williamsburg, VA -- so about 3+ hours away.
I would imagine there are some Mustang clubs and events (cruise ins) in the Roanoke / Blacksburg area. I'm sure some other members have a better insight into that and can help you out... unless you are willing to make the haul to Williamsburg, of course.
