The highlight of the night was Ryan Rauscher showing up to this event. Ryan is the 17 year old son of my engine builder and friend good friend Michael of L&M engines. Ryan was in a terrible accident in January of 2005, and wasn't expected to live a day... He had severe brain injuries from this accident. When he showed up at the cruise, tears came to my eyes. Two years ago I introduced him to drag racing. He was the nicest kid in the world. I was almost speechless to see him walking around. He still needs a lot of mental therapy but it is a miracle that he's alive. This made the event the one of the greatest for me personally.
