ok so i would like to see a picture of this black steeda but with the fog lights that are on the red one. and does anyone know if i can use the lower grille inserts on my stock bumper with the steeda bumper? it looks like they did on the red one, but not sure...
hey thanks for all the chops. i like this fascia. it doesn't scream after market. and seeing i already have the hood it would fit like a glove. now i just need about 800 plus about another 300 for paint. damn mods are $$$!
Color changes starting from colored cars and going to a "color" (vs black, more later about black cars) are really pretty simple. Just use the "Hue/Saturation" (control-u shortcut on most pc versions, or its got a slot on the pull down menu).
I just did these variations in about 5 minutes using just the one control:

Black in terms of Photoshop is difficult to manipulate. High contrast black cars are REALLY "black", and it is "black", nothing else, unless it has reflections which contain color values, and then it varies from "black" just within the confines of those reflections.
Manipulating the color channels (such as I did with the prior example) will not gain anything, since there is very little data IN those channels (other than the dense black, which is contained in ALL the channels in essentially the same, overlapping value).
Changing a colored car TO black is not hard, though it is a little harder than changing a red car to orange, for example. You start by removing all the color information from a layer containing the car, clean up the background and other things in the picture (headlights, windshield, etc, etc) by erasing the grayscale layer (which should first be perfectly registered over the original layer), and then work the contrast controls to make the black pop like a black car should.
But changing a black car to a color is tough. I would recommend this not be attempted, and that a search for a primary color car that will react well to the hue/saturation command be sought out and used instead.
And yeah, I think the stuff we can do pushing pixels in pshop is pretty sick, too.
