I'm a nouveau Shelby owner. I love the car, but I'm really not a :
"car guy". I was wondering what the overall opinion is of puting black hood pins on a black car with silver stripes as opposed to the original chrome ones? doug
I was to chicken**** to drill holes in my hood for pins and went with the CDC hood pin apperance kit. I think they look pretty nice and I can always remove them. I positioned them the same as the supersnake, which also uses chrome pins.
Shelby sells these on their website, - Shelby Performance Parts LLC. I think the black hood pins will look better than the silver ones, just my .02.
I've been undecided on hood pins. Generally I like the car to have clean look. Hood pins do give the car a certain amount of attitude. These pins would probably look right at home on a genuine Shelby.

Hey everyone, since I've just bought a hood and I'm a PICKY as hell kinda person, I figured I'd share what I've found out so far: MOST HOOD PINS AVAILABLE SUCK, PERIOD!
I did find this site, HoodPins.net, and I've talked with Ron quite a bit. He makes his own pins and even does custom pins. He is pricey but keep in mind these are CUSTOM pins ($150 for the black ones I like). But, that shouldn't make you budge considering you bought a $45k+ Mustang that could be bought for $19k (just like hoodpins can be bought for $15, why buy the crappy pair??).
Anyway, if you'd like to know more about these hoodpins, send me a PM as I'm getting more information from Ron as well (new designs, carbon fiber pins, etc.) as he's able to provide it.

I feel like hood pins are just a classic muscle car icon like say a shaker hood or the faux hood scoop on my GT.If your car is black with silver strip then why not just keep the chrome pins? I say go for the chrome pins! My$.02.

Wow congratulations on your new ride. I love the GT500's. I think the black pins would look great. I saw a car like you said you have at the dealer and I have an idea in my head on how it would look. Then again you could put almost and color pin on that car and Id still love it. Represent Ford well when you drive it and Good Luck!

It's not cheesy to use SPP products on your GT. It's not like your putting shelby or cobra fender badges on.
Some pins are a push/twist and lock, such as those found on the KR.
My CDC tape ons where a good alternative for me. In fact, everyone who has seen the car so far did not notice they were not drilled. They are that good.
