I'm thinking about getting a GT500 and I was wondering If a T-Shifter would fit in a GT500 and if so, where can i purchase one?

You might need to wait for the aftermarket industry to catch up a bit. I've looked around quite a bit with no luck, but keep your eyes open over the next few months and someone will put one out for purchase.

If you are just looking to change the stock shift knob to a T-handle, then you need a handle with the 12mm x 1.25 fine threads to match the GT500 factory 6-speed shifter and an adapter to take up the difference in length between the factory knob (which extends downward and has a lip at the lower edge that the elastic ring on the factory shift boot slips over) and the T-handle (which does not extend down at all). A seller on eBay has a custom T-handle for sale that matches the thread pattern, but it is not a Hurst T-handle. The same seller also sells the adapter required to replace the factory GT500 shift knob with either a T-handle or a round ball shift knob. His adapter has the lip at the lower edge for the factory shift boot. Some of his listings include the adapter and the shift knob. On sort of the same topic I've been thinking of upgrading to a GT500. I sat in one today in a showroom and ran it through the gears a few times. Moving the shifter between 1st and 2nd it felt and sounded as though the boot was rubbing on the lever or on itself. I didn't try another one, but do they all do this? I would think a small thing like that might be annoying since you go through the motion dozens of times a day.
