2007-2008 GT500 Rear Trunk Spoiler Foam..?

Hey guys I have a black 2008 mustang Gt Cobra replica and I just bought a remake GT500 rear trunk spoiler. Its not an OEM part, its a remake. Its not total junk and its basically identical in appearence... but the only thing I dislike about it is that the double sided foam tape is visible from the front of the spoiler in the small space between the trunklid surface and the edge of the front of the spoiler. In other words, if you were standing at my right rear tire and were looking at the spoiler you would be able to see the white foam edge of the double sided sticky tape in the space between the spoiler and the top of the trunk. So my question is, on a real 07-08 GT500 can you see any kind of double sided sticky tape or any kind of foam in between the OEM spoiler and the trunk when looking at the spoiler from the front? Any feedback is much appreciated. Thanks guys.

It should have come with gray tape instead of white. My spoiler came with gray and you can't see it.

Wow. now im annoyed. who did you buy yours from? and does it use 2 or 4 bolts? And also how much was your spoiler? I tried to save some cash and i spent $107 dollars shipped and with pretty decent paint on it, Instead of buying it for $200 with no paint. So you really cant make any eye contact with the foam from the front (rear window side) of the spoiler?? at all?

The Spoiler Store. Painted and shipped to you house for $129.00.
It uses 2 bolts and it's seen 150 mph without flying off.

Would it be possible for someone to take a quick picture so I can see the difference? Cuz if it looks way better ill just sell the one i have and then buy the OEM piece even if I have to paint it.. :^(

Yea i got mine from the spoiler store also, painted and shipped. I got mine for $107, mine uses two bolts also, But I can see the white edge of the freaking foam tape from the rear window side.. And it wouldnt look too bad if it was a black foam edge, but because my car is black and the foam is white, it looks ShlTY. Maybe they put the foam on my spoiler too far forward..? :^( im not happy about it. Check yours out and let me know exactly how it looks from the forward edge of the spoiler. (The edge that faces towards the back seat)

If anyone else Has a real Gt500 let me know if you can see the foam on your cars spoiler.

You could tape it off and use some touchup paint or marker.

Yea I thought of using a marker.. but ill still be able to see the foam. Ide rather not see it at all if thats how the oem unit is. but i might just do that. its better than seeing a white edge on a clean black car.

You could also tape that area up and using a thin piece of metal like feelers gages push the tape back a little. You would have to loosen up the bolts a little and then tighten them back.

I have a GT500 and there is no visible tape whatsoever.

No. You should not see it at all. I have 2 GT500's and 2 KR's and you can't see it on any of them.
