Default Gt500 clones opinions?

ok my question is this...........so do you guys get mad when people make their mustangs into GT500's?? cause if i were you i would laugh cause they are trying to mimic you cause they cant have what you have just my .02 though what you guys think??? also for those that put the wrong size cobras on do you think they do that so other mustang fans will know that its not a true cobra???

I have no issues with the body kits but I think it's bad format to stick the snakes on the car if it's not a real GT500.

I don't own a GT500 but if you ask me I think your car better back up the s@#t that it's talking. If your gonna make one look like it has 500 hp it better be awfully close. Thats just my opinion

I wouldn't mind putting the GT500 body kit but I wouldn't put the snakes on it that's for sure cuz it's not a real GT500...Not that I can't pay for one, but I already have 2 cars so...

Well you get that alot with the SN95 cars too. I see alot of Cobra hoods, and front bumper covers. Not so much the rear bumper cover, because it says Cobra. But it's done enough that sometimes when I'm parked in say.....Walmart, someone will come up and ask if it's a "real" Cobra. I've seen a few clones, and it's funny because it's always in body only. Look at the brake rotors and they are always GT, and don't look under the hood! I agree with Sltwagon, put the body parts on, but don't paste the snakes on the side like it's real.

I don't mind one way or the other. I wouldn't put any emblems just to keep the clean look.

If its a GT500 clone thats great call it a clone, but I think to pass it off and the real thing is being a poser , I know we are all proud of our rides no matter what we have but not to that extent.

I say that it's your car, do whatever you want to with it. I personally wouldn't make mine look like a Cobra if it wasn't really a Cobra. But I also wouldn't mind having the rear bumper from an '03 or '04. And of course I would try to find a way to fill in the "COBRA" on the rear. I just think the Cobra bumpers look better (which is why the Cobra costs more, right? )

A friend of mine has a 07 fobra and has the 07 gt500 snakes on it. he says he loves the way the snakes look on the car and so thats why he put them on, now he has the whole bodykit but its still a GT with some bolt on's i think it looks horrible cause im a fan of true GT500's but he says he doesnt drive it like a gt500 and doesnt race it at all i call bs on that one.

My theory is do as you wish...right?? I love my GT500 ....... all day long...

If you can live with a "badged 500" .... then go for it.

Not me.....I have a little bit more integrity than that.

Most people go about this the wrong way. You need to start by buying an actual GT500, then pull the engine and Tremec TR-6060 trans and sell them on eBay. Replace them with a fuel efficient small 4-cylinder and a cheaper transmission. Also change out the rear gears to something around 2.73:1s. This will give the car all the looks of a GT500 but way better gas mileage. And no one can criticize you for having the coiled snake emblems on the car.
